So I found this little guy on eBay a couple years ago and I thought it was kind of interesting. About 20 pieces of nicely cast resin. I’m not exactly sure if it’s something from a movie, books, or what. I threw it together this evening and will have to decide on a paint scheme. Fun little build.

Tamiya Mica Red over Black with a few coats of TS 13 clear…may do a couple more coats of clear…working on the hood now, same color with with carbon fiber decal over the red

Should have color on it this weekend, I’ll be using Tamiya Mica Red over Black

Got some work done, grafted the 2 hoods to the bed and started on the fins. Lots of blending and sanding left. I’m liking it so far.

Watching this build!! I just ordered this body along with the custom bumpers for it.

So I ordered these wheels and tires from EBay…3D printing was Awsome!! I think they’ll look great!

Decided to ditch the white walls and am going with these redlines and Radirs from 3D Scale …been working on the suspension this afternoon, should have some pics soon. Will get back to the bed this weekend I hope…waiting on Mr postman for parts

So…some progress….I definitely committed to custom here. I wanted to do something kinda different on both ends and started with the rear end. I was struggling with what to with the plain Jane tailgate and tail lights and tried this. Bear with me lots still to do . I cute the top of the bed off and will graft 1 hood on the back to use the front parking light bezels as tail lights. I will graft another hood onto it to complete the top of the bed and possibly hung the top. I hope i described it correctly.

No real progress on this lately but more is coming soon. I did want to show the decals I got from Rays. Two sheets of decals and a thick paper printed sheet with instruments etc. Also included a pic showing that Rays printed them in the correct colors as opposed to Revell printing them in god knows what colors.

That’s the color.. was considering pearl white or a light champagne gold

I see the pics now!! Wonderful kit and on my list. I worked for Chevy in the mid to late 80s and that blue was my favorite color of IROCS. I’ll be watching this for sure!!!

I’m anxious to follow your IROC build but for some reason I can’t see any of your pics or any of the replies to your thread.

At the moment I’m wanting to paint paint it “Chevy Black Rose “ kinda purple color.

Nice build, I’m planning a 2 tone as well.

I’d love to chop it but I fear that would result in a ruined cab lol.

Playing around this with this truck tonight. Just a mock up, not sure I like it. Wheels are Caddy Sabre with bullet centers from Model Haus…opinions???
