  1. Wooo....I'm really starting to see what you are planning here. Very unique.
  2. NEATO! I've always wanted to do that very thing to Revells '59 Caddy Eldo. I really like this, well done!
  3. Very nice. Drilling out the solder for the exhaust must have been fun.
  4. Love it! Keep 'er goin!
  5. I have this issue with a few kits. 1960 Ford Starliner - I've seen it done a lot of ways. Nothing speaks to me. 1963 Olds Starfire - box stock or custom or lowrider? 1965 Chevelle - No idea. What is it with these sixties cars?
  6. LOL, I'm feelin' the love.
  7. Hmm.........a futuristic society where you can spy on folks from a passing freeway that you can stop on. Fascinating.
  8. Well it's half the equation alright, building a nice model is the other. Lets face it, its about preparation. If you are going to build a model for a photo contest then you are doing yourself no service if you don't find out how or find someone who can take good pictures. Excuses like, "I'm just a kid/I can't a afford/all I have is a camera-phone/don't know how" just don't wash. Because odds are you know somebody with a decent camera. A friend, neighbor, family member, a teacher....anybody, who has a digicam with a macro setting. It's got to become part of your build plan. Build, paint, polish, pictures. Plan ahead. By the way Bandit1, this little speech isn't aimed at you, I'm just ranting in general, and just using your post as a jumping off point. Congrats to all the winners and everyone else who tried their best. You know more for next time and thats how we all get to the winners circle.
  9. How about whackin' the top off?
  10. Well done. What kit provided the baby moons?
  11. Sounds easy enough. You can do all that with Duplicolor sprays.
  12. YEAH! Me likey! MORE!!!!
  13. My issue is when I'm really motivated and inspired about a model, I can't seem to shut the 'ol brain down. It makes for a really lousy work day the following morning.
  14. Yeah I'm afraid so. Try Pegasus Hobbies though they may have something comperable.
  15. He's the leader in "lowest trade-in value" competition.
  16. I hate to bring this up now but the chassis from the Revell '67 Chevelle fits under that '51 with very little work and the wheelbase is dead on.
  17. Sven, I never tire of seeing your work. Your clean build style inspires me. Nice work.
  18. The Magnum and the Challenger have the 6.1 liter Hemi and they are nice. The 300 has a 5.7 liter and it's kind of basic. Not sure about the Charger kits.
  19. Try here. This is another model forum not affiliated with another magazine so I'm sure it's fine to post it here. Some of the best dio builders I've ever seen do so here. http://s13.zetaboards.com/TheModelBuilders/index/
  20. Whoooo mama hand me the shoehorn! The BIG one! Looks outa sight Slant.
  21. I gotta say I'm not into cars of this sort, but I will be ultra interested in all the work done. Looking forward to this.
  22. It's day one on a new build. You've taken the kit down, opened it and checked all the parts. You check the instructions to look for any weird parts/mistakes/whatever. You put it all back in the box. With your idea firmly in your head, you dive into the spare parts bins and spend an enjoyable evening picking out stuff that might work out nicely on this new build. You stow it all in baggies and clean up. It's getting late so you crack a cold one, watch the news and head to bed. You lay back, start thinking about that new kit and what plan for it, kick around ideas and eventually realize it is 2am and you are wide awake. 6am rolls around and you've maybe had three hours sleep and a miserable day is already in progress. You get home from work and you're so beat you don't even want to look at that kit you were so jazzed about a day ago. Is this a familiar story to anyone? Man, I go through this every time. I need to keep a bottle of Unisom next to my stash. Please tell me I'm not the only one.
  23. Absolutely but you'd be surprised how often folks take it as a personal attack. We do get out share of drama around here.
  24. Unless you have cleared over the decals some wetting solution should be able to loosen the decals up. As for the headlights. Since you have the lanterns how about just a curved piece of metal rod and let them dangle like the chandeliers on the Duke's Caddy in Escape from New York. That way mounting equals drilling a single hole. Sorry this one has given you so many issues., bu we have enjoyed watching it happen.
