  1. Okay, now I will get one.

    Very nice work! Looks perfect.
  3. Umm...no. The Camaro was designed to compete with the Ford pony cars. And they might have had kinda similar shapes (debatable) in 67-69, but after that the two cars were as different as can be. As for being cheap.....there are as many surviving early Camaros today as there are Mustangs. Cheap cars didn't last and didn't sell. Case in point, I wonder how many surviving 74-78 Mustang II's are still around vice 74-78 Camaros. I bet it's not even close. I can dig trash talk and brand loyalty, but lets not go too far with wild statements that have no basis in fact.
  4. Can I make a recommendation? Since the first hot rodder painted his car flat black and the wheels red, wheels have been used to bring some contrast to any car. A break in the color of the car, whether it's chrome hubcaps, painted steelies or aluminum mags. I think this is needed here with this build. I know the wheels are a different shade, but not enough in my opinion. Just my $.02. Keep it going, I really like this build.
  5. Mike is of course correct, however his photos do point out the hood and door fitment issues. That does look real good Mike, well done.

    Very imaginative rods.
  7. Well guys, that tears it. $50 to enter a contest......to compete.....that ain't happening. I know that there is cool stuff happening the week of the convention, but I can't afford the time off to enjoy it. I was going to have to take a vacation day to go up on Friday to drop off models, so that would be a further loss. I'll probably show up on Saturday and see ya'll but I can't justify the cost. Especially after I just now joined the IPMS to be able to compete. Sorry. And thanks for info.
  8. Okay, I've just verified today that I will indeed be able to attend. However, mail in registration and online registration is now closed for the convention. I've been over the main page and I'm awaiting authorization to post on the IPMS forum, and I cannot figure out whats going on. The cost of the convention - $50? I just want to enter the contest is it still $50? Can I register at the door? Anyone have an email contact? To get to the ones on the website require Outlook to be set up and I've never used that on this PC, so it's not set up. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. I'll repeat my idea from your last rat rod. No bed - sleeper cab - Gas tank banded to the rear bunkhead.
  10. Wow. That is just stunning. I LOVE the colors. The only negative I can find is that it's not sitting on MY shelf.
  11. Extremely poor part fitment over the entire kit. The only model that I ever reduced to a spray of styrene shards (as an adult) with a very heavy blunt object, was this kit. I was still finding parts/pieces of it years later all over the room.
  12. I have no interest. If left to my own cooking devices, it would be "whatevers fastest, taste is optional". When I was married, I told her I would do anything/everything she needed/wanted except cook. She's very good herself and enjoys it (so long as I do the cleaning) so we're all square.
  13. Kind of a cool idea. Good luck.
  14. I think it looks great. It looks very authentic, and has a great stance. I agree, the fuel T is a little out of scale but you'll get that licked by the time you start the next one. Check Michaels bead section for some hexagonal plastic beads and you can add more realistic fuel line fittings too.
  15. Whoa. Man, that is seriously pretty. Well done.
  16. Yeah, to my knowledge that kit has changed very little (if at all) through all of it's releases. It will test you as a builder, I promise you that.
  17. That's looking pretty good!
  18. Yeah, 100%. Michael, it IS in the forums rules to try to make yourself understood. Use a period at the end of a sentence. A capital at the start of the next and a general stab at decent spelling and no one will mess with you. Seriously, no ones gonna mess with with anyone, if they make a reasonable effort at being understandable. The current trend of text speak with one thought running into another, weird abbreviations and no punctuation used, make us old guys crazy here. Fair warning.
  19. It is always a good idea to keep all instructions forever. Ya never know. I have the instructions for near every model I've ever owned dating back to the 70's. They have helped out a lot of people (myself included) with questions like yours. It is always a good idea to keep all instructions forever. Ya never know. 20. It is a highly stylized car. No doubt. Leowy was an artist. And as such I figure for most people it is a love it or hate it situation.
  21. I see your point Harry and I think you are right. By competing you have accepted that it will be judged by others and that your standards as a builder have to be that of a judge or higher. You can say, "I build for myself" as long as your standards are high enough to compete. And I think that is the catagory I fall in.
  22. I'd love to see that hunkered down some more. At least in front.
