  1. I have bought a "junkyard lot" off Ebay before. If you can get them cheaply enough, it is cost effective especially if you are the sort of person thats going to customize/kitbash/hack up the models anyway. Its also a groovy way to build up a parts stash and/or get spare bodies to practice your airbrushing on. Emphisis on "cheaply enough". And for me, if there seems to be five models that are "mostly" there (that I'm interested in) and I can get the package for $25 or less, it's money well spent.
  2. Just a thought, but the kit wheels/tires are really nice if a bit dated. Have you looked them? I'm building the same kit, but I've hacked it up a bit.
  3. I have decided on a color. I'm going to prime in grey, do a coat in the pebble tan and then top coat with the satin burgundy. Then I'll sand gently with a high grit until the burgundy starts to thin and the tan and greys start peeking through in high wear areas. No rust, just a little grime and faded paint. Whatcha think Alyn? Is that gonna rock it better than the flat black?
  4. No deadline? I'm IN! Put me down for a Revell 1/24 '53 Bel Aire. I'm gonna kit bash it with the Badman '55. I'll be starting it once my rat rod is done.
  5. You guys are the best. PM back atcha Dave.
  6. You have me intensely curious, please carry on.
  7. I'd love to see more.
  8. Very slick. I would have liked to see a WIP thread on this. Especially the new chassis.
  9. Very nice! Man, I love the wide whites and baby moons.
  10. I've done 15-20 trades with folks from this forum and been very happy with their end each time. Everyone seems to understand packaging and getting the confirmation number. Good group here.

    66 MUSTANG

    I like it, well done.
  12. No seam huh? Thats the big hurdle for me, I'll have a look. Anyone esle have an option?
  13. Well done! I could not have built that box stock for love nor money.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I'm not playing CBP police, it's just that I know Slow Ride pretty well and I was 99% sure there was no mention of a car. If you had said, "This is my Tbird from the Redneck Stuntmen's song "Hey Watch This", I wouldn't have given it another thought.
  15. Sorry to shanghai your thread but can anyone tell me where I can find the show itinerary? What time/day is drop off cutoff? What time is awards on Saturday? I can't find squat on the website.
  16. I figure 2 scale inches at the narrow end and 3.5-5 scale inches at the open end. It's a rat rod so Ill work with anything.
  17. I'm going to make some megaphone headers for my rat rod build and I've heard of people using paint brush ferules for them. Every paint brush ferule I've ever seen though has a rib or two in them and has the metal seam. What is everyone using for these? Please be specific (manufacturer) as I'll be looking for some right away. I'm open to resin or something adapted for the use. Thanks in advance.
  18. AMT '37 Chevy barn find.
  19. Thanks Glenn. I got the frame strethed today. Plenty of room for the big mill and belts. No clearance issues on the front suspension cross member either. I'd like to get more done today, but I got called into work. Be cool.
  20. My name is Rob Mattis and I approve of this build.
  21. Okay since we have a good long end date add me with another Avanti. I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet, but I'll think of something. I also have a '53 but it's too far along for this CBP.
  22. Michael, I hate to burst your bubble here but in order to qualify for this CBP, the car in question must be mentioned either in the title or the body of the song like your Black Sunshine. " The wheels of his Mustang exploding on the highway like a slug from a .45." Slow ride is NOT about riding in a car. There is no car mentioned in the song. But this is Jim's CBP, he'll have to chime in here.
  23. Very cool Looking already. Keep it coming.
  24. VERY NICE. Get your buddy Hakan on the forum we wanna see more.
