  1. Man that is well done! Did you mold in the red roof insert or use one with a filled roof? I have something similar planned for my kit and have been looking for clear glass forever. That really looks fantastic. I love the colors.
  2. Inspirational!
  3. First you must download your pics to a pic hosting site like Photobucket or Fotki, then you post the pics from there. Tutorial - http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52417

First off, this is a very good looking model. I love the green. I agree some Superbee stripes would be cool. My thought on black wheels is that they seem to get lost. They match the tire too well and any detail there is unnoticeable in all that shadow. I have tried a gun-metal grey and I really liked the results.
  5. Both models are fantastic!
  6. Okay guys I am happy to join in now. My rusty, crusty and dusty '69. This will be a very quick build. I'm planning on primered fenders and a miss-matched hood, a tunnel rammed big block and some 70's style big & littles jacked up in the rear a bit.
  7. Yer welcome Charlie. I spent about $40 getting cans for $1.39 or less.
  8. Well got the engine pretty well set up. Still gotta work on the alternator and tensioner brackets so I can get the Harry Pristovnic seal of approval. I'm still not sure about the exhaust. I'm going to have to make some fenderwell gasser style headers. Ideas welcome. I have decided that the body will be flat black. I've got some cool decals and the top will be burgundy. Lots to do.
  9. This will be the first new kit I've bought in a long while. Looking forward to it.
  10. They must have heard about the native Americans.
  11. I use Krylon a lot. I use their flats, silvers, and primers quite a bit right now. However, Lowes, Kmart, and Home Depot have all stopped carrying it (and are clearance pricing what they do have, so go stock up if you can) and are going back to Rustoleum (which I think is complete ###### with lousy nozzles) and Valspar (Lowes only) which I have never used. I haven't checked WalMart or Ace yet. I'm not happy about this and told the management in both hardware stores. Just a heads up.
  12. Looking good Ron!
  13. Big thanks going out to the following folks who have helped me out with a trade for parts I need, recently. TooOld- Bob Spedding VW Dave - Dave Carnevale Johnny K- Johnny Knight Ace-Garageguy - Bill Engwer
  14. Yes, Krylons Crystal Clear is an acrylic and comes in spray cans. And it works pretty well. Also there is a Folk Art clear that is very high gloss that seems to go over anything well too.
  15. Your best bet on clear is to use an acrylic. It will go over anything.
  16. Lets not overlook the idea of using a metallic gloss color and then hit it with some matte clear and go for the suede look. I think this is a great idea Virgil.
  17. The very thought of trying that makes my head hurt.

So far so good! And you gotta explain the title.
  19. I'm not a Ford guy by any means, but I gotta say that is one of the most aestetically pleasing cars ever made. And you did a brilliant job with it. Well done.
  20. I think you may be right. Hopefully they will be more prepared for next year. Shoot me some info one the FAST contest. jantrix_too@yahoo.com I also have the MAGS show in October too, I'll probably see you there.
