  1. Don'tcha just love mystery parts?
  2. Ya know after seeing all your modified die casts, I'm really starting to wonder about a modeler who has a hammer on the work bench that see's regular use.

Love it! Great idea with the 409. Well done.
  4. Great info Bill. Stude produced them for the '63 & '64 model years. Headlights tell you which year one is, '63 they were round, '64 they were square. From the factory they came with 289 V8 with optional Paxton supercharger. The first production car with all disc brakes. My dad says they were a hairy little beast.
  5. Okay at first I was against the V10 because you had so much already painted but hey you made it work. Nice going, I'm diggin' it.
  6. The truck story is very cool and good thinking on the part of the baker. The Camaro, not so much. Utter stupidity in my oh-so-humble opinion.
  7. Man I need to build another one of these. Nice work Jim, can I see a shot of the roof? Looks like you added something up there. We sure are of like mind or hot rods Jim, I gull winged the rear door on mine too.
  8. How about some headlights from the Revell '39 Chevys?
  9. I think you could probably get that same color or darn close through Duplicolor. Check the paint at your local Pep Boys (they seem to keep the best selection). The can will $7-8 but you'll get more than one model out of it. It's real auto lacquer so make sure you prime completely with a good primer to protect the plastic.
  10. What would that be?
  11. Great stuff!
  12. Thanks Bill, I don't want you to think I'm nagging or anything.
  13. Ya know Bryan eventually we're gonna get real tired of seeing these "old" builds. But not anytime soon.  Another sweet build man.
  14. Don, I don't mean to sound critical, there is a difference between a weathered and dirty car and a dusty model. Dust looks like just what it is. Dust that puppy off, get some washes down and some weathering chalks and do it up right. Wayne, I would drive that in a new york minute. Awesome!
  15. Thanks guys, I appreciate the ataboys.. As soon as I get the engine in the mail I'll finalize my motor mounts and how I'm going to mount that grill assembly (and assuming it friggin stops raining) I should be able to start painting. Aside for some very subtle weathering, it's going to be a clean, functional street rod, semi-gloss black, black/grey interior, and a grey vert top. I'm going make the engine center of attention on this one. Plenty of detail, but not over done. More soon.
  16. I really like this entire build. I have something similar planned with the AMT '69 Cougar. Is this going to be the final location for the rear tires? Or are they gonna tuck in a little further? It looks like it if was 1:1 they would contact the fender if there is any suspension travel.
  17. So far so good. Lets see some more.
  18. Looking good. Hot rods get in your blood so I'm betting this won't be your last one.
  19. Congrats Corey and everyone else.
  20. Here's the shifter I cobbled together. The skull is from Warhammer miniatures and was given to me by a friend. The center console is from a Mustang diecast I think. It fits perfectly.
  21. I'll be watching this one. So far so good.
  22. It's amazing what those crazy big wheels from the Maisto kits can bring to a larger scale model. Very nicely done. The red interior really pops against the black.
  23. Thanks Doc. I've done some work on the interior and I'm waiting for a 1/24 Chevy big block from Ace-Garageguy before I finalize the layout of the front end. I'm either going to weather this one or just go straight sinister flat black with some door art. As always critiques, comments and alternative ideas are always welcome.
  24. I'm fairly certain they are both 1/25 and the Revell is a vastly superior kit. My son is building it right now and his only complaint is some tire rubbing on the outer fenders.
  25. I like it Andy!
