  1. I am stunned. I always have been. It's just that no one else knew about it.
  2. He's a hard days drive away, up in Tennessee. I'd love to help him out, but it's a bit far and we're not exactly close. So any overtures I might make beyond advice might be mistaken for pure greed. Which would not necessarily be untrue. Great questions. No idea. They are taking up most of a garage is what I know. If I find out more, I'll pass it along. I have passed on most of this info guys, I really appreciate the advice. I'm getting a bit irritated with 'ol Uncle Pete, it's like he's teasing me with this massive collection. But then, knowing him that may be his goal after all. If you saw his collection of collectable cars, guns and other antiques you'd likely blow a blood vessel in your brain. It's sick.
  3. Terry, don't think I haven't thought about that. I been wondering how many would fit in the bed of my Dakota quad-cab. And where I would store them. But seriously, thanks guys I'm going to tell him to contact an auction/estate sale company. I did a quick check of Craigslist here in Tampa and found half a dozen companies looking for this sort of stuff. I'm sure he can find some near him. Thanks again.
  4. Has anyone else hinged the hood on a late 30's though 40's vehicle? I'd really appreciate a how-to here.
  5. Okay my uncle shoots me a message on Facebook saying he has a 1000+ kit collection that needs to find a new home, along with an extensive collection of auto mags from as far back as the 40's. He's asking me how to get rid of this stuff without doing it a little at a time on Ebay or something. So if YOU had to unload that many kits at once, how would you do it? Oh and I'm sure he's not looking to give these away. I guess now I'll have to wait through dozens of "send them to me!" replys before I get the one post that has a serious answer.
  6. I don't think everyone is on the same page with the rules here.
  7. Thanks but........not what I'm looking for. I need something closer to stock.
  8. Skip, thanks very much, I don't have instructions for this kit. Everyone thanks very much for the help. Actually it is kinda cool, cuz I can't remember ever seeing a Ford with a cross-ram.
  9. Part of the custom options in this kit is a square, odd looking contraction that sits on top of the intake. Is this supposed to be a fancy air cleaner or early injection system or.............? I'd post a pic but my battery is dead in the camera. I'm hoping someone who knows the kit can help me. Thanks.
  10. I'm building the Monogram 40 Ford pick up. The hinge for the hood is enormous and the holes for it in the firewall are mammoth. Who has hinged a 40 hood (or something comparable) and how did you do it so that it looked right? I'd love to hear about it and pics would be even better. Thanks in advance.
  11. Yeah, until Mr. Madazzskilz shows us something to blow our hair back, I'd just ignore his posts. I'm really liking this. Keep on going.
  12. Wow. This is looking great. Love everything you're doing.
  13. I really like this. I can definitely appreciate the clean building.
  14. George, I made the blanket with a cloth lint-free wipe that you might find in a machine shop. It was colored with fabric markers (good ones). The lint free wipes are not real easy to find, I grabbed a few from work. And yes, my scales are all screwy now, but it all works.
  15. Interesting. Looks great so far. One thought though. I like the chassis yellow and body green it all screams John Deere, but having the interior in a matching yellow starts to make it look like a toy. Just my opinion.
  16. After some of the "on the workbench thread bashing" that went on recently I figured I'd wait until I'd gone a little further than just opening the celophane. This is going to be a nice clean flat black rod with a rack for the boards and still have a usable bed. It's the Monogram 40 pick-up with the bed from the Revell 50 F-1. The engine is a y-block from the AMT 57 Ford. Critiques welcome.
  17. Looking good!
  18. The best Batmobile of all time. Great work on it. Looks perfect.
  19. Love the chrome work and the color. Nice work.
  20. Mike - that's cool. A primarily online based Florida builders club? I'm down with that. Sounds good to me.
  21. Just love that build. Beautiful work.
  22. I'm sorry guys, as Mike said, Clermont is just too far. I have a IPMS chapter here in Clearwater I can hang with, though I haven't yet touched base with them yet. MAG's is a small local club that isn't accepting members right now. Good bunch of guys though.
  23. I recently found that one too, but I've yet to fully explore it. Looking forward to it.
