  1. Thanks guys. I'll put it on my list. I'm not sure what to do with it yet, but I'm thinking very art deco custom. Or maybe a gasser!
  2. Thanks, that's all I need to know.
  3. Fantastic work. Very impressive. I'm a little curious though why the engine was in there sideways and using a chain drive. Would someone more knowledgeable than me illuminate me?
  4. Hey pardner. Lets try out the macro function on your camera. It's usually the little 'flower' symbol. Brings things close up into focus better. It's hard to tell anything about your work.
  5. My issue is that we can't use a kit from the list we already own. Seems a little greedy to me. I'll pass.
  6. Curtis this is a very cool idea. I'm sure the tuner guys are freaking out, but it's just plastic right? If I can make a recommendation or two I'd say you should perhaps do some online searches like http://gassermadness.com/ to find out how a real gasser's suspension is set up. Or pick up a gasser kit. But I know when you are just starting out you gotta make do with what you got. Also to prevent issues removing glass in the future, just use regular Elmers white glue to install the clear parts. Its easy, dries clear and easy to remove someday when you feel like rebuilding. Keep at it.
  7. On an ebay search I find that Monogram and Lindberg both have a 37 Cord kit. Are they the same like the AMT/Lindberg 34 pick-up kit? If they are different, which is better? Any info would be appreciated.
  8. What about the Aurora Mod Squad Merc woody wagon?
  9. Jim welcome to the forum. You do excellent work. I can't wait to see more.
  10. I remember this. But when you think about it, all the builder did was make himself look like a jerk. You should not let people like this stop you from trying to help other builders.
  11. Anyone remember this guy? Cuz I'm drawing a complete blank.
  12. I love it! Awesome work. The color, stance, graphics all look perfect. Why does the hood overlap the grill though? Is it just a bad angle?
  13. Personally I think this is worse than slamming someones work. There's nothing worse than seeing 600 views and no replys. Trust me on this.
  14. I've been watching your builds for a long while now Bruce and I notice when you are redoing these old builds you never bother to strip the old paint. Wouldn't it save you a lot of sanding and extra work if you did so? Not to mention a better finish on the new paint. Looking forward to seeing more.
  15. Real nice work, very authentic.
  16. I think this sort is tiny minority of the folks here. I think just a few glances at the work that some of the big guns here makes us realize that we're just not there yet. As for the subject at hand. I really don't care about the thin skinned types. If you post up work here for perusal, you would be foolish to assume that someone isn't gonna spot (and mention) that mold line that you missed. If you are too touchy about your work, don't post it. I'd rather folks tell me exactly what I screwed up, so that I don't do them again. It's why I post in the first place. I'd prefer it over a "great job" because I'd feel good that someone cared enough about me and my work, go give it a look over and give me an honest opinion rather than a generic 'ataboy'. I think everyone who adheres to Thumper's mama's rule of "if you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all" are doing a disservice to the modelers that now feel ignored because everyone was too afraid of hurting feelings. Ignoring the builder and his work (happens a lot) is infinitely worse than offering criticism. You may hurt feelings if you mention the flaws, if you ignore them, you certainly will. *steps down off the soapbox*
  17. Great work. Love it! I may totally steal that side-pipe idea.
  18. Wow. That Stude is jaw dropping. You do some fantastic work my friend. Glad to have you here.
  19. Thanks Brett. I'll be using some shortly for the sidepipes that I'm going to be building. Some engine work and she's sitting on all four paws(at the same time even). Some work coming up on the radiator and intake. Many thanks to plowboy who is sending me some wheels to replace the nasty ones I have. For the sidepipes, I'm going to raise the bottom of the doors about three scale inches so the pipes can sit higher like they would on a Cobra. So far so good.
  20. YES! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Bring on the zombies!
  21. This is the piece I'm putting on the doors sans the 'Unexpected Surprise'. I'll be adding 'Here Comes Trouble' with some model railroad dry transfer lettering. Still kicking around the exhaust. Double D, how do you straighten the solder? When it comes off the roll its full of minute bends and so forth.
  22. Pete my son and I just spend some quality time drooling over your work. You are an artist amongst the rest of us hacks.

  23. Anyone who knows me know that I don't ask for advice that often. My own twisted vision is usually enough. However I'm at an impass. I'd like to make the exhaust a focal point of this build. However I'm torn on what to do. Big 'ol fat nasty sidepipes? Standard exhaust exiting through the rear fenders? Just open exhaust exiting the back of the front fenders? I wide open for suggestions please.
