  1. Looking forward to more.
  2. I'll be darned, I found a shot with all four of them in the frame. Top left is our lone female, Rio. Top right is Taz, an aussie mix. A complete coward. The bottom two are Ace, a weimer/black lab crossbreed, and Zuzu, a white shepherd purebreed taking a breather from their wrestlemania. All are rescues or adoptions from homes with tragic circumstances. I never planned to have four dogs. It just sort of happened. Never again.
  3. Looks great Wayne. I can't wait to see this at Jaxcon. Can we get a shot of the image on the hood?
  4. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the kind words. I've started working on the junk for the bed. Still trying to get a realistic cardboard box. I'll post up pics as I get stuff painted, dirty and rustified.
  5. Yeah Clay, the shop truck was the plan all along. I'm just really pleased to be able to use an original AMT 34. Thanks very much.
  6. Sand through to the primer in a couple spots and let the lye attack the primer rather than the paint. The paint will slough off like a snake skin.
  7. Looks great Mike. Very authentic.
  8. Thanks guys. I appreciate the ata-boys.
  9. Yepper. Dat's the fact, Jack!
  10. Fantastic work. I got mine in '91.
  11. As always, you dazzle Peter.
  12. Man, that looks sweet. Great work. Super clean.
  13. My fifeteen year old son watched me finish this up tonight. He asked, "Dad, you like out doing yourself, don't you?" I replied, "Why else do it?" A heck of a great compliment from my boy. This is the first part of a shop truck and trailer combo. The trailer seemed like fun so it was the first done. The truck will be an AMT 34 Pick-up (flatbed/duelie) that will be mildly weathered. I'll be adding tail lights and license plate when the truck is done. And this will be filled with cardboard boxes and what not of old weathered parts and stuff. It still needs another wash or two I think, the separation between the rust and paint is too defined and needs a thin wash to help blend the areas. I'll also add some pastels in the inside between the boards and other crevises. I'm real happy with the way it turned out. I gotta tell you guys, this is super easy to do. No salt on this one. Just layered acrylics and some rubbing alcohol. The gritty rust is just matte clear acrylic with baking soda sprinkled on and rusty washes over the top. If you have wanted to do a rust bomb, don't be shy.
  14. Eric, it is a Cannonball CPB and all the cars must be 1981 in model year, technology and syling, as if it could have been featured in the movie released that year.
  15. I'm running a year restricted CBP on another forum. What would be my best source of information regarding when certain models of aftermarket rims were available? I wish I have some Hot Rod mags from the late 70's but I don't. Really could use some help here.
  16. Nice work. Are those Fugimi wires? How much trouble were they to resize for a smaller width wheel? I've got a nice set in gold chrome, but they are super wide.
  17. I'm really torn on this one. As an artist it's cool, but as a car...................dunno. One thing is for sure, the builder has some imagination and talent.
  18. Kevin, it's great to see you back at the bench. I love the color, but dude I implore you, please lose those lil wheels/tires. I know you're into the low riding scene and that's very cool in most cases, but I really think it doesn't work here.
  19. The idea that the thread originator has, just isn't realistic. I subscribe to Street Rodder and Rod & Custom and I can't tell how many times I've seen a car story that goes, "Bob came up with this great idea for his 32 and he turned to John at John's Customs in Johnsonville, Indianna, to make it happen." Not everyone has the time, the skills, the equipment or the know-how to do it themselves. But with enough money, you can rent all four. Now people entering models they didn't build in contests................that rrreeeaaaaallllllllyyyyyyy cheeses me off. I suppose it's a huge double standard, but oh well.
  20. I'll tell you Cranky, it was a real treat watching that one come about. Even my wife and kids tuned in every couple days to see the updates. And knowing that there is just a little bit of me in it too, just makes me smile.
  21. Finish a model? What is this strange thing you speak of?

    batmobile

YES! My favorite batmobile of all time. Well done. Great dio. The way you remembered to leave the asphalt showing as the car went by shows great attention to detail. Great work.
  23. Well done sir! Very infrequently see the molded color used. I haven't done so myself in years. Great work.
