  1. Very nice. The white wall stripe is a nice touch.
  2. Honestly I don't think I have yet completed 53 models in my life. Fantastic work.
  3. Wow, great compliment Don, thanks very much. Some updates. The suspension is done, and we're on wheels. Only the leafs and the hitch are a kit part. It's in primer right now. I've decided to do the whole thing in acrylics using the Ryan Silva weathering techniques. Need to get to Michaels on Friday. More soon.
  4. Thanks guys. I've been busy with other things lately, but I'll be back on this come this week. Don't ya just hate it when life steals all yer free time?
  5. Corey, looks like you're off to a great start. So is this officialy back on again? Who's building?
  6. Now this I like. Very much. Good work.
  7. The hitch came from the Revell Prowler the one with the lil trailer behind. The wire is called sculptors active wire mesh and is available in a couple sizes in the sculpting area of your local craft store.
  8. I've got a shop truck hot rod in the planning stages and while brain storming I thought of adding a trailer made from a rusty old pick-up bed. And now I'm more jazzed to start the trailer than I am the rod. Heading to primer after I add some tie down loops and some other details. I've done some rust throughs and the chassis is made from .125 x .125 square tubing. The basket is made from 2.4mm angle stock and sculptors wire mesh. Working on the suspension now and still gotta choose some wheels/tires. I'll be attempting some cardbord boxes full of old parts and what not. The tailate is replaced by some old boards and the bed will be made from similar basswood planks. Here's what Ive done so far.

  10. I'll be loking forward to seing more. Your work always catches my eye.
  11. Thanks guys. I'll look around for something that will work.
  12. Fantastic build. I'd really like to see an underside shot and see what you did to the exhaust system.
  13. NICELY done! That's some very cool work. I'm sure your dad in law was thrilled.
  14. Okay I've been modeling off and on since the age of ten. I'm 42 now. And STILL spilling stuff. As the lingering smell of CA accelerator and my wifes WTF look can attest to. Has anyone come up anything to help combat this? I mean when the plastic is flying, there is CA glue, accelerator, solvent cement and various paints lying about. What have you done to keep them in a unspillable state? I've never really thought about it till now, but I'm sure someone has come up with something.
  15. Wow. I will have to remember this. That's incredibley helpful. Thanks.
  16. Paint - excellent Detailing - perfect Overall super clean build up. The wheels totally kill it for me. Makes it look cartoony. I'd love to see this with the wires from the Revell 32 Sedan kit.
  17. GAH! Dontcha just hate it when someone comes up with the same idea as you and then bats it clean outa the park? Wow. I REALLY like this. I guess I'll have to come up with something different.
  18. Peter you really aughta just quit modeling. You're really not that good at it ya know?? Seriously though. I've thoroughly enjoyed your work over the years. You're an inspiration to many of us.
  19. REALLY impressive. What did you make the turbo plumbing with? Solder?
  20. Really nice work. I'm diggin it.
  21. Oh man, I'd heard about the Russo and Steele auction fiasco on the news as it was happening, but never saw the results. Man that's tragic.
  22. For 2011 I'm running my yearly Cannonball Run CBP on the other forum (probably my last) and have a special build planned for it. I have another weathered rod planned, an AMT 34 Ford stakebed dually with trailer. Finish up my current pro-tour Camaro before the February Jaxcon. Hopefully my surf rod will see completion. Beyond these, nothing else planned.
  23. I collect Hot Wheels. But only one model. As it's my favorite auto of all time, every time the 67 Charger is released with a new paint job, I go buy one, open the blister pack (YES I OPEN THE BLISTER PACK BWAHAHAHAHA!) put it in a lil glass case and set it with the others. I have 12 now I think.
  24. Ol' Kevin here nailed it for me. Everyone who taught me, everyone who gave me constructive criticism or a valued opinion. Everyone who posts and says, "This is what I done, and how I done it!" Gentlemen and at least one lady, I salute you.
  25. According to the guys at Ain't it Cool News the upcoming Nic Cage film, Drive Angry, will be chock full of automotive mayhem and more older cars sent to the scrapper. Check it out. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/47835 At this point, why? There are plenty of newer cars that go fast you could mangle, why continue to destroy old iron in this day and age?
