  1. That's sort of what I'd expect Cranky's backyard to look like.
  2. I gave up on that awful chassis early on. Going for a pro-touring vehicle, I cut down a stock car chassis to fit. Here's my WIP URL if you're interested. The body is the ONLY decent thing about this kit. In fact it shares an interior, chassis, engine with a IMSA Mustang released about the same time. How's that for lame? http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g73/Jantrix/Captain%20Chaos%20special/
  3. LOve it!.
  4. Wow. A great resto-rod build. Clean with perfect paint. I love it.
  5. I'd mentioned in your WIP thread about the yellow interior looking toylike, which you obviously improved upon. I must say I totally approve of this entire build. It looks perfect.
  6. Yeah, I've done some searching online, and I realize it's a longshot. But maybe someones got one squirreled away somewhere.
  7. Does anyone make a chopped cab for the Monogram 40 Ford pick-up? I'd really appreciate some leads.
  8. My name is Rob Mattis and I approve of this thread. Awesome work!. So tell us more about this book?
  9. Cranky that's awesome. All the more reason I need to get a paint booth and get savvy with my air brush. What tools did you use distrssing the paint? I understand the water part. Was it just a stream of water on a localized spot and then a stiff toothbrush or something more agressive?
  10. Man, I'm not a fan of the rattiness to n'th degree that some of the extreme ratrods go for. No front brakes, metal grating or wooden plank floorboards etc. But a well built unique rod like this one? Oh hell yeah. This looks like it was built with whatever was on hand. And if that means a chevy engine, by all means. That's what hot rodding is all about.
  11. Glad you're back at it Virgil.

    Bat Rod

    Well done! I love it.
  13. This is something I'm looking forward to.
  14. Very nice! Great paint work.
  15. This is originality at it's best. Fantastic work.
  16. Absolutely right. If you built every kit completely OOB, you would still be able to enter them in other classes and do very well if your building is of good quality.
  17. I'd love to see a stock XB resin kit. I'd buy one in a flash. You resin guys hearin' me?
  18. Add the MPC 67 Charger to that list also.
  19. Fantastic work. I'd love to know what sort of paints and brushes you use for those graphics.
  20. Lets see. That would be.........................................................................................1. Yeah. 1. *sigh*
  21. It'll be a 57 Chevy Nomad.
  22. For me a build stalls for one of three reasons. 1. Design issue. Parts fit this-a-way and I want it that-a-way. Usually it goes into the box but not away. Stays on my desk forcing me to think about it. 2. Paint issues. Undecided color, too humid, in the purple pond, etc. 3. A genuine lack of interest in the subject. One of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" situations, to quote Steve McQueen. This situation is a no-go. The whole idea is scrapped and she'll either get parted out or redone some other way, later on. Currently on hold The rat is getting a major make-over. Waiting on better painting weather. Original Batmobile. Waiting on the guts to start it. Project scrapped. Paint weather soon. *sigh*
  23. As a former Guardsman that spent a lot of time in and around those HH-65s, your replica is spot on. Got a lot of great memories, thanks for bringing them back.
  24. Cool info, thanks very much.
