I've wanted to build one of these for a long time but never being able to afford an original revell kit (even a glue bomb built up) I scraped together the change and went ahead and got the Modelhaus transkit as a starting point. A Revell Ranchero fills in the rest of the parts as well as my parts box and an AMT 57 T-Bird kit.
I used tape and Silly Putty to mask around the frame rails and fuel tank
Hubcaps and valve covers are from an AMT 57 T-Bird. The tires are from a Lindberg 53 Ford.
I mostly use a small screw driver, exacto knife and round engraving bits in the old Dremel to remove the glued on parts. In this case the rear fender openings were too far gone after I got the skirts off so I had to splice in a set from the current hard top kit.
Sure do David, you can find pics of the build here:

Here's my latest build, I finished it up about a month ago. I enjoy restoring these built vintage models.
I started out with this 1958 AMT Edsel
After quite a bit of work and a few parts from the current hard top kit I ended up with the old glue bomb looking like this.
Thanks for taking a look at it.
I thought it needed a bolder style grill than the stock one. I found this piece in my parts yard...from an old AMT '34 Ford P.U. I think.
It'll be sunken back a little further in the housing, this is just a mock up. I like it.
Here's my latest project. I'm working on an old SMP/AMT '58 Edsel convertible glue bomb.
As it came into the shop
Ouch! That's ugly
I thought about covering the rear fenders with some cruiser skirts but I couldn't find any I liked so I spliced in new rear fender openings from the new issue hardtop kit
Fast forward about two weeks to today, lots of sanding!
Getting there! I like it.
