  1. Very cool old beater!! Those things are so much fun to build!! Thanks for sharing,
  2. Thanks, guys!! Yes, unlike Jarius' original artwork for the Wagon Rod, it is a pretty ugly beast if you build it right from the box. It's really too bad that they didn't make it look like Jarius' drawing. Though Jarius only provided them with this one drawing, it's clear even from this angle that they really missed the mark on the headlights. And what about the taillights? There are none in the kit! Not even a red decal! Oops!! I also prefer the wheels from the Pontiac Banshee that Jarius included in his artwork, but I didn't want to sacrifice the only Banshee kit that I have for this build. Given what was in the box, maybe I should have gone with this for the license plate: or this Later,
  3. Thanks, Bernard!! Yes, I could use a few of Curt's elves to finish some of my builds!! Thanks, Chuck!! It's always interesting when you modify a custom model...I'm glad that you like the finished results.
  4. It's hard for me to believe, but this is the first model I've finished this year!! It's a slightly altered version of the AMT Wagon Rod. If you're not familiar with the kit, here's a short list of the body modifications: - the headlights have been moved back to a "near stock" position; - the grille has been reshaped and shortened; - the top of the hood has been pie-cut in the front to drop the nose down a bit; - the sides of the hood have been molded to the body; - the running boards have been arched on the bottoms and raised to minimize the door gap. The engine, chassis and interior was built box-stock. Here's the link to the build. Well, let's see if I can finish at least one more build before the end of the year... Later,
  5. Actually, I liked it better with the front of the engine kicked up a bit and the rake you had!! Either way, this is going to be one killer '32 to add to your collection!! BTW; I finished the Wagonrod this morning. I'll try to post some pics later. Have a GREAT vacation!! Later,
  6. Very nice, John!! If you could let a little air out of the tires, this one could pass for 1:1!! Thanks for sharing,
  7. Oh yeah...you've got the rake and stance dialed in on this one, Bernard!! And, that big ol' HEMI looks awesome sitting prominantly out in front!! Have a GREAT vacation...then get back to work on this little jewel!! Later,
  8. I really like the way you pulled the sides of the bumpers into the body...very cool!! I'm not yet sold on the small side windows with the full height roof...but I suspect that it'll all come together once its painted. Thanks for sharing.
  9. OK...I don't want to hear anymore from you regarding "I'm slowly getting my chops back". Anyone who can sucessfully build their own frame, and a pretty nice one at that, IS a model builder. Period. This is looking pretty cool, Bernard!! But, I think I'd use the HEMI, (with a BIG old blower on top), from the Revell Willys kits just to see if I can make the engine stand up taller than that chopped roof!! Later,
  10. Congratulations, Kevin!! Yes, you've come a long way. I, too, am glad to see that you stuck with it. Take care,
  11. That thing is all engine and tire!! Too cool!! Thanks for sharing,
  12. I'm supposed to bring something? Just kidding... That's the second '32 in a row that you slayed!! I'd say keep building '32s until you get really tired of them!! Later,
  13. Did the elves do this one on the side when you were sleepin'? That is just way too cool, my old friend!!
  14. Another excellent build!! Thanks for sharing,
  15. Very nice work, Andre'!! Welcome to the MCM forum!! Later,
  16. Way too cool, Bernard!! It's great to see how much your old model building skills are returning with each subsequent build!! And, the PhotoShop pic is AWESOME!! All it needs is you in the driver's seat!! I wish that I had the time to learn how to use PhotoShop well enough to something like that with the shadowing and all... Thanks for sharing,
  17. WOW!! I just made room on my top shelf for this bad boy!! Later,
  18. WOW, Curt!! Those elves in the detail department have been working overtime!! You should buy them a big ol' steak dinner or something!! Keep up the GREAT work!! Later,
  19. Well, I'll have to wait to forgive you until I meet you at the NNL West in Santa Clara next year Is that just a cheap shot to get you to come to the show? Later,
  20. I like both colors!! They really pop!! Keep working the basecoat. Once you've got it in order, the final coat should lay down really nicely. It's amazing how much the windshield changes the look of the car!! Later,
  21. I like to look of it without the bumpers, too! I'd go with the redlines...they'll look good with the paint scheme you're planning. Without the windshield, it almost looks like its ready for the salt flats!! Later,
  22. Besides cars and trucks, I also build WWII and SF3D stuff, so a place for "Other" stuff would be fine by me. Later,
  23. Well...at $52 it wasn't much of a war...but to help the cause, I'll pay full retail like I said I would. We'll also need to figure out how to sell one of the models, too. I'll let you post a shameless plug for that one, too... Thanks for the awesome jacket!! Later,
  24. Actually I have more built models than I thought...I counted 30 finished builds!!
  25. It's pretty tough to pick a favorite...I like many of them for different reasons... But, this would have to be number one: It's the '57 Chevy pickup that I built with several Vette influences. But then there's the....
