  1. I don't usually build models this modern, but I've got one on the way from the UK importers and distributor of Hasegawa kits, Amerang.
  2. It's not the colour I wanted to paint it, but I was asked by Revell to paint it to replicate the box art, it's going on show at the IPMS show in November (if it doesn't get cancelled)
  3. This is a 3D printed model, when these photos were taken I'm pretty sure the tooling hadn't been made, the model kit will be a lot smoother than these test shots, I'm pretty sure the windshield frame will molded as part of the bodyshell.
  4. Another shot from an episode I'm watching just now
  5. I watched the original Bletchley Circle, filmed in England, but I've watched the San Francisco series before, but a few days ago the other half treated me to a new t.v., The latest 50 inch 4k version from Samsung, I'm now going through Netflix rewatching my favourites, the difference between the old 1080p and this are worlds apart, the story lines are good, but anyone interested in mid 1950's American cars it's great for "Car Spotting" hopefully a second series will be out soon.
  6. I'll be following this build, I've got all three of these kits to build (One day)
  7. It's being released at the end of October as well.
  8. I'm looking forward to getting a few of these, I'm informed it's going to be available around October
  9. The photo was taken earlier tonight by me off the t.v., It's off a programme called "The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco" it's based in 1956, I'm hoping a second series will be coming soon.
  10. And secondly, was there ever a model of it ??
  11. Welcome aboard, you'll fine plenty of useful information here....
  12. Email is German for Enamel, but Revell Email is a synthetic enamel and doesn't take well to being thinned with white spirits, I have thinned them using lacquer thinners, metallic paints will react if thinned with anything but their own thinners, thinned correctly I find they airbrush really nice, what ratio are you thinning the paint ??
  13. superb build, exactly the same colour combo' I'm planning for mine....
  14. Hopefully they'll make it over this side of the pond, after building the '68, I really want to build a '69
  15. The Fiat 147 was the Brazilian version of the 127, I passed my driving test in a 127 (Many years ago)
  16. I think I'm going through a green phase, the Land Rover and VW Golf GTi I'm building are both green, oh and the last model I finished (Chevelle SS) was also green....
  17. I really need to stop going onto eBay, in my defence I picked it up for less than £20
  18. Latest delivery from MCW Lacquer, delivery took 5 weeks due to this bug that travelling the globe.....
  19. Round two with the base basecoat completed, went on much smoother using my Paasche VL airbrush instead of my Badger 200
  20. Arrived this afternoon, finally got my hands on a 56 Del Ray, there like rocking horse poo to find this side of the pond, Cheers Tom (Modlbldr)....
  21. Right hand side wet sanded with 4000 & 6000, ready for polishing but the left hand side didn't go well, only using 4000 grit and in places I've burnt through the clearcoat and base coat, user error?? very possibly, this model is a learning curve, as it's the first time I've used basecoat/clearcoat, oh well, back in the spraybooth tomorrow, i knew there was a reason i bought 2 bottles of the green, I'm not happy with the clearcoat i was given, never had to wet sand clearcoat unless there was a dust nib in it, so I've just ordered 3 cans of my "Go To" clearcoat, Hycote, which airbrushes brilliantly decanted from the aerosol.
  22. One thing I didn't want to do is to make the paintwork too shiny on this Land Rover, as in real life the paint was o.k at best, checked the clearcoat this morning, and it had dried with a slight mottled finish, so I've wet sanded it with 4000 and 6000 grit paper, then polished, I'll think I'll stop now....
  23. GeeBee
