GeeBee replied to martinfan5's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I've got one waiting to be started, supplied by KA Models in Korea for a magazine review, molding is superb, anyone wondering why a Korean model company would release a Japanese 3 wheeler as there first automotive model http://www.ibuyallvehicles.com/kia-motors-automotive-history-ibav/ -
Favorite method for decanting spray cans?
GeeBee replied to 2zwudz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've been doing this way for years without any problems, put a small pin hole at the top of the can, once the gas has escaped, cut the top off and left to de-gas for about 30 minutes, then pour the contents into a glass bottle. -
It's available in 6,10,18 and 40mm

Hopefully Revell will be reboxing the 69 Chevelle for sale over this side of the pond, enjoyed building the 68.

What primer under Rustoleum paint???
GeeBee replied to 2zwudz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've had a can of this for a while, tried it on the Land Rover floorpan yesterday, as I'd ran out my usual, didn't attack the plastic -
I'm Waiting for the primer to be delivered so I can carry on with the Land Rover, so no time to waist, masked up the body on the 57 Chevrolet Bel Air so the side spears could be airbrushed, for this I used Rustoleum Stainless steel enamel decanted and applied with the airbrush.
-
Managed to get the body and other parts that need painting body colour in primer, I've got all the other parts ready for a coat of primer, which have been sitting in the hobby room for a few months, but I've run out of primer, hopefully I'll get the one's I ordered this morning by the end of the week.

After discussing the Corona virus on Friday, which is getting pretty bad down in London, nearly 120 confirmed cases in the area we we're living in, and only 4 cases back home in Solihull, we decided that we would rent a car and move temporarily back to Solihull today. As I can't safely travel anywhere to do any photographic work, all my work has been put on to the backburner, I'm lucky I've still got a lot of stock photographs licenced with Getty Images and enough in the savings to get by, and luckily my partner can work from home. The good news is that I'm going to have plenty of time on my hands, and plenty of models that need finishing, the land rover will be the first, I'm planning on getting started on it again tomorrow.

Another easy one for me, my Dad was working at the Jensen factory in West Bromwich when I was a kid.

I'm back up there on Friday, it would have been Moms birthday on the 25th, so need to go and put flowers on her grave, I might stay up there for a few days to see if I can some work done on the Revell Land Rover, it's kind of weird down here atm, it's so quite, not your normal crowded London.
-
I think if I added to the stash of 150 kits, 3 Revell London buses and a few resin transkits, when I'm not actually able to get any building done atm, I'd probably be kicked out of our London home and be living on my own back in the Midlands, although I've been given special dispensation to buy a couple of Revell E Type Jaguars later in the year.....

The Land Rover is still ready for some airbrushing in my hobby room, on the other hand I'm now living 115 miles away in London, I was planning to travel back next week to attend a photography show in Birmingham, that's now been cancelled due to the Corona virus, I'm planning on getting back to the Midlands in a few weeks and get some airbrushing done before returning to London with the painted parts to assemble, we're living in Pimlico,London in a rented flat and I'm unable to do any airbrushing down there.
