  12. Gas tank painted Floor pan fitted to chassis Polishing finished Now at the beginning of this post I mentioned that the clear parts tree was missing out of the kit, I had made a parts request to Revell, as this 48 Ford had been re-released a few times under the Revell branding, but sadly they had no stock of the parts, then I recieved a PM off Les Budge AKA Stitchup, saying he had to same kit in his stash and that he would be building it as the custom version, so the stock parts, i.e windscreen and quarter vents will be surplus to requirements, and would I like them, well I'm pleased to say they arrived yesterday, (Thanks Les) and I couldn't wait to start work on them, the only parts he couldn't send me were the headlamp lenses, luckily I managed to find a pair that fitted perfectly in my spares box, what there off I really don't know.

  17. The orange stuff is thin masking tape, used for masking regular flat surfaces but the white tape is meant for going around tight curves
  18. Finally got the wet sanding done, only needed to touch up in a few places, door locks and a few edges, but nothing major, started off with 3600 grit paper, followed by 400 and 6000, got the bonnet, (Sorry,Hood) polished out this afternoon, if the body turns out as good, I'll be well happy Bodyshell and bonnet after being wet sanded with the 3600 grit paper Bonnet finished after being wet sanded and polished using 4 different grades of polish

  24. Well 3rd time lucky with the paint today, I wasn't taking any chances, the body got a good clean with some panel wipe that I had been waiting for, then a quick going over with a tack cloth, it will need to be wet sanded and polished, but I'm happy with the results, I'm going to leave it for a while, as I used automotive acrylic paint instead of the usual cellulose lacquer that i normally use,
