I shouldn't have zoomed in now I really need to do some serious repairs on this engine

Thanks! I really appreciate the compliments. Especially on my first attempt at weathering. This is the third model I've ever done and now I'm hooked.

I wanted to save as many parts from it as possible so I built the blown caddy motor and put it on the stand

Yes it is my first time. I ended up putting the flat clear on instead of the chipping compound."oops" I put some thinner in my air brush and sprayed the teal enamel off to reveal the rust

Dupli-Color Paint Shop Primer?

I just tried this stuff in a can. It works nice if you use lots of thin coats. as soon as it starts to pool it pulls away from the substrate. 30 minutes it's ready to sand. 800-2000 grit wet worked well for me. -
That's freaking sweet!

I had to go back to see what work you had done. Excellent craftsmanship. Your attention to detail is impressive. I like your work on this engine. It mad me wonder if there is a flat black with a texture available for doing the valve covers. I think that would take this up a notch. -
I should try and find an Ecoboost twin turbo for this. I haven't seen any late model Ford models that I could snag from

This is my first attempt at doing a weathered look. I kinda screwed up on the chipping so I tried something different and I think that it came out pretty good. I was thinking about putting dents and some cancer but I might do a restoration on it some day.

I built the supercharged engine just for fun. This is going to be a broke down weathered car. this is my first time doing this and I screwed up on the paint chip process so I had to improvise

So much flash. So far I really like this kit because it came with sooooo many extra parts. It even came with an extra engine. But the down side is the plastic is very thin and there is a ton of flash to trim and sand.
