  1. Very nice detail!
  2. Thanks guys, I believe it was a Revell kit, It was in the Hot Rod series that was made in 1983 or so. I thought it was hard to build with lots of small parts, but it was fun. The 1/1 is coming along.... slowly. But that's ok I'm retired..
  3. I joined this forum a while back and have been blown away by the quality of your builds. I have built a few models years ago and attempted to detail them and make nice, etc, but not this one, It is supposed to be how my 1/1 is- not a rat rod but not pristine- More like a kid would make out of a 20 year old farm truck. I am building a 1/1 56 F100 with a 300 6 in it. While at a swap meet I found a "Hot Rod" series 56 model. It was opened but appeared complete. Come to find out it was missing one inner wheel hub. Anyway I wanted to find a 300 6 engine for it but it would be too costly so I built it with the Y block. It was molded in dark blue. I spray painted the chassis in satin black after it was assembled. Then sprayed the body in a satin green, the doors and top in satin black, then fogged over the whole thing in blobs of brown to try to simulate rust (patina) like the real one. Use the extra red wheels I had from a Little Red Wagon model. I also painted a F100 hot wheels I found. Just for fun...
  4. That is just amazing, Dan.
  5. You are a master!! I love it.
  6. Wow, bummer about the interior. Would you be able to move the whole interior back in the body, or maybe just the rear seat? I am a novice, I know I couldn't do it! It seems funny that the manufacturer would make such a disparity. Though maybe after the model was built as instructed maybe you wouldn't see it. But it seems like you would looking thru the side windows. Good luck.
  7. Looks like you could sit right in that interior and row some gears! Very nice!
  8. That is really cool. I want to duplicate the patina look also. How did you do that?
  9. Hi Bill, Im north of Lansing about 35 miles, near Ashley. Thanks for the welcome.
  10. Hi Guys, I was a kid in the 60's who loved cars. ( still do...) I built a bunch of model cars complete with glue smudges all over, etc. Now I build one every once in a while, usually of real cars I have had. They aren't really nice like you guys do, just nice to look at. I have a 69 Road Runner that is painted green w/ white interior that I tried to modify a little to be like the real 68 I had. I have a silver 67 442 which is pretty much accurate. A white 65 Dodge Coronet 500 (Polar Lights) and a Little Red Wagon, (no I never had a real one of those). Now I am working on a real 1956 F100 that I have put a '85 ford 300 6 in. This truck will be as a old truck- not a shiney show vehicle, but also not a rat rod. Just a old truck as someone would use around the farm in the 70's or 80's. Now I am working on building a model truck out of the Revell Hot Rod 56 Ford Pickup. Thanks,Greg
