  1. Does anyone know what kind of color the Marmon COE interior has? The color of the exterior becomes dark blue . Hermann.
  2. Archer sells a lot of different sizes of Rivet transfers.ARCHER. The other option is to make these rivets yourself with a Punch & Die set from RP Toolz this set contains various sizes from 0.5mm to 2mm. I have to make also these rivets on my Marmon cabin and I will use the punch & die set, size 0,5mm. Hermann.
  3. Thanks for the encouraging comments guys! Yeah, i made a little mistake with the floor plate. I forgot to make the recess for the gearshifter and to adjust this on the existing floor plate was not realy an option. But hey, in the absent of good referenz material, this kind of things can happen......its just plastic. Her the new floor plate with the recess and the start of the dash. The driver seat is attached with double-sided tape to show the proportions. Now I am still wiating for the order of the punch & die set, to make the rivets on the cab parts. Until then, I can not yet assemble the cabin, but there is enough other things to do. Next job was to make the sleeper, for the dimensions I could only fall back on the 2 pictures, what is a little difficult to determine the measurements from a perspective photo. With some measuring tricks and on sense of proportion I could then still determine the sizes . The window frame, which later becomes the chrome list, is made out of 0.25x0.5mm styrene, On later term comes in this frame the glass with a black window frame on the glass. And the topsleeper placed on the resin cabine to show how this all together will look like. The slanted front plate is not fixed yet, i place it only for the pictures. That's all there is for today. To be continued. Hermann.
  4. Chuck and Keith, thanks for the explanation. Hermann.
  5. Thanks for the list, maybe it's a very stupid question ..... from a European guy.....but ehhhh......what does the term "MOPAR" mean? Hermann.
  6. Thanks for the comment Pat. Aaaaaand we continue with this German Lowliner. Today i show you some fun details, not really details that are needed, but fun to make and to make this model look more realistic. We start with the front crossmember and the FUP, or better said....the Front Underride Protection. And with the radiator placed. And the distance between the FUP and the front bumper...... Then it is the turn of the torsion bar on the front axle. From Styrene I renewed the steering bar, because this steering bar comes into a little different position with an air suspension, than with a leaf-spring axle. I removed the paint from the exhaust and painted it with silver paint, after this paintjob i worked with Ushie van der Rosten chrome powder, to create a better metal look. First i tried this on a part what was gloss painted, to see if this gave the desired result......and it did. And the exhaust...... Then it's time to make my own fuel tanks. With a Lowliner these tanks are flatter and wider than with a regular version, and there is no use to modify the tanks from the kit. First i made an inner skeleton from styrene, and after this i wrap it with 2 styrene sheets of 0,5mm. After this build I have finished the whole tank with ctm welding seams. The long rods are shortened on a later term, this is my "hand" for the spraying, and is also the filling pipe of the tank. And together with the tractor...... Thats it for today folks, to be continued! Source Hermann.

  13. Wow, looks a bit like the deora concept , very nice build. In my opinion, without the clear, the shine looks good and balanced. Very nice! Hermann.
  14. For me the "mr musscle" oven cleaner works the best on car paint from spray cans. I always use acrylic car paint, but it's hard to remove, oven cleaner gives the best result for this kind of paint. It is advisable to wear latex gloves and avoid inhalation of the vapors, after 20 minutes you clean all the parts with with lukewarm water and a small brush. For de-chroming it's also very effective. The other remover i use is a indoor floor cleaner "Blue Wonder" what i use for the Tamiya, Revell or Vallejo paints. This cleaner is friendlier for your skin and lungs. Hermann.
