Thanks again for all the kind words! Just an FYI, this kit kind-of sucked. Minimal detail, fit was not great, and did take quite a bit of work to make it looked more polished. Still... I have not seen another 240 z kit with this kind of subtle fender flares, rear spoiler, and especially this front spoiler in an all-in kit. I thought the color came out great. I’m a big fan of gravity colors (out of Spain not the us). The US vendornis a jerk and seems to only ship after you stir up trouble with PayPal. The Spanish vendor seems to ship next day for me consistently.

I don’t know how manufacturers stay in business making plastic models altogether. I’m 34, and I don’t know very many people my age or younger who are picking up the hobby. When I was 15, I knew many more people into it.

All out of production. Was super excited to nab them! Been eyeing them for over a year and purchased each individually

Absolutely amazing build! Fantastic work

Thanks! Yeah I believe the wheels are intended to emulate the “Panasport” wheels. I think they are also called “watanabe” wheels. They came as bare plastic, so it took quite a bit of work to get them chromed, clear coated,, and black.

I modeled this car after my own 240z that I owned in HS and college. It had an L28et motor and many many aftermarket parts, electronics, and systems. Some quick highlights: 1) paint is “Crystal Paladium” (Mercedes) by Gravity Colors 2) seats are resin replica recaros. I added a 5-point harness set from studio 27. 3) kit is from Fujimi “devil Z”, from Wangan Nights. 4) I added photo etched hood pins for a visual accent. Hope you enjoy.

DUST in clear coat. Help!

That sounds like some good suggestions. Here is what I’m going to do next time: 1) clean the inside of the booth with a wet nap 2) take a shower and spray the model completely naked 3) vacuum several hours before spraying 4) hang the model upside down when finished spraying -
DUST in clear coat. Help!

Ahhh. Should I cut little holes for my hands and add a filter for make-up air? I guess that would be the only way to do it -

I was hoping my spray booth would help reduce the dust :/ It does not seem to do a great job at this -

What do you use to apply the polish? Cloth? Dremel? -
DUST in clear coat. Help!

What do you use to polish? I notice the 2k cures soo hard, it’s dofficult to polish out the dust very well. I have tried a dremel, but it spins too fast. -
DUST in clear coat. Help!
Ahajmano replied to Ahajmano's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I actually cleaned the part immaculately, and there was no surface dust. What I’m experiencing is dust settling on the surface during and after I splay the clear. It’s obvious because it’s all on the surface of the clear. -
I have been struggling with this for a while, but now it is becoming nearly impossible to manage. i have a home made spray booth, but I still manage to get a ton of dust on my 2k clear coat. Any tips and tricks you guys use? Is there a better booth I can use that can eliminate this problem?

Thanks again for all your support! I have a custom 240z coming out in a week or so

It is indeed a Fujimi Kit, but it is the Devil Z kit from Wangan Midnight. I like the body accessories it cane with, as it looks nearly identical now to a 240z I owned in college with an L28et motor. Even had the intercoolet up front and dark metallic grey exterior. Paint is “crystal palladium” by Mercedes. I out the engine together just so it would be visible from the underbody. I didn’t add any details and left the hood shut. I will probably use an aoshima 240z Kit when I do the engine detailed version.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate it body is almost done as well, so it should turn up in the finished column very soon. Any recommendations on the shifter nob color?
