  1. Yes. It just happened the other night while working on my Ferrari 250. It usually happens because I can't find stuff I just set down two seconds ago...
  2. 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby and get an Iwata. They sell Paasche, if you are hard set on another one.
  3. 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby and get an Iwata.
  4. I always like to do it now, and then clear over it. It helps protect it, helps keep it on the body because it will fall off, and it helps the the over all look.
  5. Ink washes and Tamiya dirt chalks.
  6. I don't know about all that.
  7. Well if you are going to copy someone might as well copy the best.
  8. What do ya mean.... Late sixties... 68-69
  9. Pretty much the same way to do molded scripts: BMF prime, clean, paint clean and clear. I found ISO and Q-tips works pretty well on all types of fresh paint without messing up the finish around.
  10. Or, set them in with Future or whatever you are using for clear before clearing the body and the clear over them.
  11. A non-fuctioning AMX/2 Prototype?
  12. The kit engine is pretty basic. So I decided to spruce it up a bit. Just some general fluffing up the engine and pumbling. Some more body work Fixed the doors, although to really make it right the frames would have to be totally redone and go up in the roof more. The roof has too much of a bubble to it.
  13. That is pretty sweet too. I like that blue. Where did you get the decals?
  14. outstanding. Looks great! Makes me think I should have build this kit instead of my 250
  15. Day 2 Lots of little sub assemblies to build so I been able to keep busy while filler dries, and it's been taking lots of filler. Mostly sink holes. I had to deal with a pretty warped frame and firewall assembly but the plastic is soft and easily bends back into shape. Be careful installing the rear ducts as they kind of fit either side - if they are right they should fit very well and if they are wrong they fit okay. It took me awhile to figure it out - they are almost identical depedning on how you look at them, but not quite, and I though I two of the same side... in any event. I am pretty sure I put mine in backwards which resulted in extra filling and sanding. Nevertheless, in spite of its number of challenges it's so far been rewarding and fun to build. It is definitely not a beginners kit, but if you put some time into it I think it can be a decent build. I would recommend to any intermediate/advanced builder. And with some scratch building it can be improved even more, as some obvious details are missing... like inner door panels. So all you guys who have one or are thinking about getting one go for it.
  16. That is good to hear. I have one. I figured it would be at least as good as the GT2s.
  17. I like the explosive warning lable.
  18. It's definately different, a cute little microbe.
  19. Nice, I like it. I think that is the first Tamiya GT3 I have seen built.
  20. You can hide a lot of those little imperfections with some ink washes.
  21. working away on it, but I have come to this conclusion. I am just better off building it for what it is and not fix everything. There is just too much to fix.
  22. Just a solvent. I usually hold the parts together and let it wick in from the brush.
  23. Well it going to be some work to get this one done. The top of the door is wrong. But I was able to get it fitting much better. Kind of hard to see white on white but out of the box the doors fit terrible. The good thing is it doesn't take too much to get them in. And I fixed the quater. I see the lower rear valence, what there is of it is too square, so I will be adding some evergreen in there and rounding the corner...
  24. Well I will definatly pick up one of those.
  25. Hummm could be, last I saw a few months ago it wasn't yet. I will be keeping my eye on that one too. Yeah, how could you not like a 250 GTO. Back then, in the 60s maybe 70s when it was restored, it was worth that much... it was totaled out X-racer. I guess now it would be too much work to put it back to the way it was. From what I read they were trying to do two things with this car. 1. get bigger tires under it. 2. create more down force. Although aerodynamics on cars was in its infancy I am sure they didn’t know quite what they were doing.
