  1. They are not all Packards. What do you expect at the race track?
  2. I don't know. I don't follow the rules. I have put every kind of paint over every other kind of paint, and only encountered very rare problems. Gas out only really applies if you put some over a paint that does gas out. As far as rattle cans you really can't beat Tamiya Synthetic Lacquers. Good stuff. Airbrushing is a whole nother animal where some rules start to apply for best results. I tend to stick with enamels for airbrushing mostly, but I occationally use Testors acrylics. Overall, however, acrylics and I don't get along that well. But I have airbrushed everything from Testors enamels to W&N artist oils, acrylics, rub-n-buffs, and water colors from tubes The whole thing and trick is to try stuff, experiment, what works for one person doesn't always work for everyone else. The problem is if you just listen to the pros you get afraid to try stuff outside the box you put yourself in. That is where you will miss out on all kinds of little tricks and techniques that take you to the next level. So my advice is take any advice as a guide with a grain of salt.
  3. I've been told it's a day at the horse track at Kentucky Horse Park. I am not sure I see any palm trees either, do they grow in Kentucky. I don't know but may you should just give up now if you mistake a Telephone pole for a plam.

    993 AD CAR

FWIW the engine cover does open. You can't see much but... It is one of the best kit/plastic OOB hinges I have seen.
  5. I agree. I did the Model Car Garage top on a Fairlane and it was black masking tape, maybe gaffers tape. But if I do another I would probably just use masking tape. Compound curves are very trick to do though. I used Evergreen plastic for the seams and chrome trim coved with BMF. It turned out pretty good.

  7. Yeah that's what I say... 15 mins and it's done... weeks later then it's really done
  8. Well it does appear that it is in backwards. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...st&p=103325
  9. I said Volvo wagon.... and UFO
  10. That does appear to be the case. The gas tank is in backwards.
  11. Yeah, well that anit it...
  12. Old Cutlass Supreme Some kind of Cubian parade "car" UFO I am working on the orange one. Some kind of Volvo, BMW, wagon.
  13. Name that car, no that one! not that one that one.
  14. Sounds like possibly the courstesy modual is going bad.
  15. "The shape of things to come"
  16. So far that is the only down side. No big block.
  17. Yes, yes, and yes. It was a popular pony car, and the kit is state of the art. There hasn't ever been a decent Nova kit before now.
  18. I don't know, but I am going to be old when I grow up.
  19. Besides have a wide range of camos with basically 4 colors they also had a the most extensive collection of different vehilces. Some were pretty cool, interesting, and just plan strange. Some you have to ask yourself WHY? Why would anyone think you'd need a mobile quad 20mm AA gun on a Panzer Mk IV chassis? Why? Stugs made sense as long as you didn't try to use them as a tank.
  20. Oh yeah, there is just so much wrong with the AMT kit. In fact, their are still people who say the AMT kit is a great kit and don't need to buy a Revell kit. They need their head examened. I have had three of these AMT kits built one, in the middle of another and have one to build. Even before the announcement of the new kit I cringed at these kits, but that is all there was. While it may never reach the numbers the AMT kit did I am sure they wont have too much trouble selling them. I even remember as a kid getting on and opening the box and was like, "WTF is this?" And it is FAR and AWAY from the AMT heap.
  21. That tab is actaully on the real car. It was a small Urethane filler between the fender and bumper. It may have something to do with assembly of the kit, but I have got to that point yet. Yeah I had a bunch, too. 69 Straight 6 It was a very pretty blue color on black. 70 with SBC 71 parts car 71 4 door, which of course was in perfect condition, it just was a 4 door. 72 Forest Green with a pretty healthy 327 it liked to get real light in the front and drift to the gutters when ya romped on it. 74 hatch with a pretty healthy 350, But like all hatches the rear frame rails snapped in half and the floor caved in. 78 305 that eventually got tubed and a 548 BBC
  22. Happy 4th... It's a day of undetermined events
  23. Looks like a good idea. I think Nova always look mean and nasty all tubed out.
  24. Well there is two things Porsche knows better than anyone else in the world Turbos and Brakes.
