Here are two from the series - the Comet and the Cuda, both with Slixx decals. I also threw in the Boss Nova, which is just slightly more advanced than the other kits being discussed. I own most of the kits in the series but never seem to get around to building them. Part of the problem is I want to remove the wipers from them and it’s a pain. I removed them from the Cuda and it went fine tho, and the Comet didn’t have them.
Dave Zeuschel. Do Slixx need a proofreader? Other than that, nice job, I like it.

My vendor didn´t mention that the model only fits level 2: It has no engine, less than 60 parts, the "tires" are styrene donuts and the qualitiy level is §$%&? In a sentence, the crappiest kit I have ever laid my hands on.
No idea what "level 2" is, but this kit was first issued by Revell in 1957, so you have to manage your expectations.

There was no Pontiac "small block". A 326 looks the same as a 389.

The real one was seen at the Bolton, MA truck show a few months ago......Jeff is on the right track.
Based on that, I'm guessing the one with the Holmes 850 wrecker body.

I'll agree to disagree on that. Just Google Image searching '71 Mach 1s I can only find one or two that have white walls equipped. The majority, even the ones with the Ford Pie Pan hubcaps have either white letter tires or black walls.
Period images, or current? I doubt anyone would put whitewalls on one now, but when new, E70-14 whitewalls were standard, even on Mach 1s. Wider RWL tyres were optional.

Interior and wheels done.
That green looks just right. What did you use?

Now that Modelhaus is no more, the time to make the old (smaller) Formula Desert Dog tires is here. What would sweeten the deal is make them slightly bigger (but still not 1/20) but still make them to fit 1/25 wheels and mket them just as easy to make the lettering white. To me, these tires represent the dawn of the whole off-roading movement.

Corrected grilles next?

71-78 Dodge Van?
Beat me to it. I hope so...

Can you not assemble the body around the bulkhead (using the chassis as a fixture if necessary), then fit the windows, dash and floorpan/interior after painting? That's the way I'd tackle it.

AND a Pete 589 like the pic!
Yuck. Another modern truck that looks like it's melted. 🤢

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I can't find much to like about modern trucks. I'd rather see some '50s and early '60s stuff.

What engine is that supposed to represent? The valve covers look like SBC with the distributor in the back but the exhaust ports are equidistant....?
It's the Ford FE parts pack engine. No valve cover bolt detail and yes, the distributor is in the wrong place (per the instructions). It would have made more sense to have an offset, angled or front cover distributor drive, but that's easy enough to rectify.

It would be nice without the section over the cab, never seen a 1:1 truck cap like that.
Simple enough to chop off that part and make it a regular bed topper... I'm just grateful to see it at all -hats off to @SteveG and the Round2 guys. This, the '60 F100, the two GTOs, the '68 Coronet, never imagined we'd see a year like this.

I have a stripped 1966 promo. It has the trumpets, but the outlets in the valance are spaced a bit wide, roughly in line with the innermost tail light. The new parts look much better.

No interest in current stuff here either. For me, the mid '60s was the most interesting period for FEDs - I'd love to see kits of the following, but I'm not holding my breath:
Surfers
Magicar
Stellings & Hampshire
The Hawaiian
The Old Master
Greer, Black, Prudhomme
Chizler VWill never happen, but there it is.

3077 N. Cahuenga is townhouses now, and ostensibly has been for +/- 40 years.
I'm a bit surprised to see a HOllywood-2 prefix on the building -- must be an overlap area.
Thanks for sharing those sweet photos!
It was still there last year - link to Google street view Looks like it's since been advertised for redevelopment though.

Only have one boat pic in my reference folder, but steering wheel is on the left. 🤷♂️

The 917-10 and the Tyrell were Matchbox kits, nothing to do with Airfix.

Whoever/whatever generated the subtitles isn't much good with Scottish accents either, they're comical. 🤪 These old Airfix kits aren't bad, I built a few back in the day.

Those are the original one-piece tires from the two AMT Indy car kits. I'm not positive, but they look like the smaller tire. I don't have the Ford pickup kit with those tires, I sold mine many years ago. Comparing them to the two-piece units would verify which ones they are.
I think you're correct that they are the smaller one. The larger size is really huge... I have a Sand Hog kit that has two of the small ones and four large.

Interesting observation, but incorrectly backwards. The original version of this kit is the 72 Convertible, and this is a 1971. None of it would copied from a 1970. That was a JoHan kit back in the day.
I'm aware of all that, I was referring to the amount of "real estate" on the leading edge of the hood, above the grille.. Maybe it's just the light on the model, but it looks boxier than the 1:1 Steve M posted above.

I have a pile of the Revell kits, so figured one would be a good candidate for a 1-ton conversion. I'm thinking about making a wrecker body for it. 🤔 Not much to show yet, but I've got a new rear chassis section, leaf springs, HO72 axle and 17.5" wheels to assemble. The kit chassis will be cut off near the front of the cab and this new section grafted on. Front suspension stock, but with the new 1-ton brakes/ hubs.
