  1. Hi Mark! Beautifull Riv, you certainly have not lost the touch, bravo! Those air-brush "bursts" remind me of what we used to custom-paint on 1/1 choppers back in the 60's. We both know that most casual observers generally don't have a clue about the technique to create them. The famous Art Himsl of California used them profusely back then, to good effect. Tastefull paint job, and your clear is world-class! CT
  2. Hi Bob! This is a great model, and the paint is much more smooth and shiny than what came out of the factory for those 50's PU. No reason for any concern. Bravoi! CT
  3. Thank you David! CT
  4. Thank you Dann. Glad you like it! CT
  5. I Kurt! Thank you, This conversion was inspired by a real car that was offered by a coachbuilder, in the 70's, called The Mirage. Mine is a little more "squarish", because it is based on a 64 Cad, not a 70. You have to do with what's available, as my late mom said... CT
  6. Hi Steve! Nice herd, but I LOVE the C-10. Is-this a Tamya color? Just curious... CT
  7. Hi Bob! Nice fleet, and that scooter is priceless. Bravo! CT
  8. Thank you Chris. Happy you like it! CT
  9. Hi Bernard! Thank you for the compliments, I'm flattered. About the "Acid Rush"... I was a teen in the 60's, and that was a "turbulent" decade... So, I took precautions not to offend anyone with the "Acid Rush" name on the Challenger Funny-Car. Therefore, I added two "advisory" while making my custom decals. That may interest you... CT
  10. Thank you Anders! CT
  11. Thank you Roger! Speaking of paint, I just finished shooting a 58 TBird custom with the "recipe" you were kind enough to share with me (AS-29 + Pearl clear + TS-13). It turned out great. I'll post it on this forum in a few weeks. Stay tuned! Have a great 2022. CT
  12. Hi Francis! Well, this is a great idea. Let me see... The actual 72 Ranchero kits (my favorite year) are hard to come by, so, I might build such a "4 door Ranchero" out of two 87 TBird bodies I have in my stash, or even better, two 92 Mercury Cougar. This way, we would have supercharged V6 power, and 4 wheel independant suspension! I'll take out my caliper, and start checking the mash-up possibilities tomorrow morning. Stay tuned! Of course, I know you were suggesting a 1/1 car. I'd like it, but there is a 70 Challenger awaiting completion in my garage, and a friend has a 67 Mustang ProTouring under construction, in which he needs my help. So, we'll have to wait a bit, I'm afraid... But the idea has potential, in the age of the ever-present SUV! You'll be more than welcome to join on our next show. Alas, I can't see when it's gonna be, with the Covid resurgence. And I'll have to increase my auto insurance coverage if you bring your "small" box along, because I know it is ultra-precious cargo! Happy 2022, hope to see you soon! CT
  13. Hi David! What an eclectic collection, very interesting. I ljust ove the trebuchet. The details are impressive. Bravo! CT
  14. Hi Ludwig! Nice collection, and your paint finishing technique is World Class. Bravo! CT
  15. Thank you Carl! Good health and a good 2022 to you! CT
  16. Thank you Lee! The base is House of Kolor, topped with Testor's WetLook clear. The "effects" were done with various Gel Pen (2.29$ each at Michael's). I tried to recreate the crazy early 70's CobWebbing effect, but with less trouble than spraying it in the conventionnal manner. Just a fun experiment... CT
  17. Hi Eric! You, Sir, know how to paint black cars. Bravo! Bonne année! CT
  18. Thank you Oliver! CT
  19. Hi Steve! Excellent work, the wheels are great. Bravo. Now, since it is January first, it's time for new year's resolutions. So, repeat after me: "2022 will be the year of sanding, and even more sanding! " Keep on, very interesting. CT
  20. Thank you Chazz! Don't forget that, at some point, time can be substituted for talent. Don't ask me how I know... CT
  21. Hi Greg! Thanks for the comments. Why bother to choose? Enjoy them all! CT
  22. Hi Bruce! What a formidable, eclectic collection. Bravo! CT
  23. Hi RRR! All are great, but I can't help notice that, like yours truly, you have a soft spot for the 53 Stude! Can't argue with that! Bravo! CT
  24. Hi Gareth! Thanks for the comments. I also have a soft spot for the Starliner with the Alter Nomad roof. I called it "MadLiner". An experiment with an old can of Metalflake Cherry Candy Lacquer... CT
  25. Thank you! I should have known it was a custom, because I nerver saw anything exactly li it. The Chezoom by Coddington had a slim single bar, but it was much more straight, and would not fit my needs. So, I guess I will scratchbuild one as you did. Hope mine turns out as good as yours... Masterfull work! CT
