  1. Hi Steve! If we should make a time capsule of the 70's vanners, the "bottle pattern plex" would certainly be included. Mine was amber color, but you get my point. Thanks for the smile! CT
  2. Thank you Eric! Somehow, the term "cool" seems the most widely used as it relates to anything VW. Does-it have to do with the AIR-cooled technology? I'm curious... CT
  3. Hi Larry! Thanks for the comments. Since salt flat racing is NOT the most followed discipline, I was not certain how many fellow modelers would laugh at the analogy to the famous 200 MPH Club... So far, so good! CT
  4. HI! Thank you all. I see the nuance between reactions and replies now. I learned something (again!) today. CT
  5. HI! Since a few days, whenever I open the forum, I notice that I sometimes receive notifications that fellow modelers "reacted" to a particular thread that I have started. Among those, when I click on them to go directly to their comments in a specific thread... it gets me to said thread, allright, but nowhere is a post that correspond to the notification in question. I'm puzzled... Is-there something that I do not understand, or are those "ghost" replies that do not exist? Just curious. Maybe the moderator could shed some light on that? Regards, CT
  6. Hi Mike! Happy you noticed these little details. It's all part of the fun of making your own decals... CT
  7. Hi Steve! Well, as a friend once told me: "I've been trought the 60's twice, and the first time was more fun". seriously, this is "groovy, man" . Even the 8 tracks laying on the floor. And this wood paneling that was the go-to material to complkete an economical and quick inbterior. Thanks for the memories. Allow-me one more... from the Great White North to the sunny California! CT
  8. Please, do it! As for mine, stay tuned, it should appear on this forum in a few weeks, if all goes as planned! CT
  9. Hi! I can easily picture that. I'm finishing a totally scratchbuilt Ferrari powered stramliner these days. It should be on this site soon. It's been a year in the making, and I guess you should like it! CT
  10. Hi! Here's a typical top that I had in my parts box (probably 36 or 37 Ford), that I adapted to this customized Willys. In this case, I only had to narrow it at the seams, on each side. As you can see. mostly anything can be done... Good luck with your project! CT
  11. Hi Steve! Thanks for the comments. Who would built an open-air bug for the beach without the mandatory cup holders, really? LOL. CT
  12. Thank you Chris. I can easily imagine that you long for the salt. I'll make it there someday, next year if all goes well. It's on my "bucket list"... CT
  13. HI! I built the car when it came out in the 60's, and I never noticed this snafu in the illustration... But it DID have a frame, I can report... CT
  14. Hi Oliver! Well, this Camino has just the right amount of mild custom modifications. Classy. Bravo! CT
  15. Thanks for the info, Eric! CT
  16. Hi Eric! Great results on the clear-coat. May-I ask what brand of clear you used? I guess it's automotive grade, judging from the spraying environment? CT
  17. Hi John! Very interesting concept, bravo! Is-this a body that you scratch-built yourself? I'm intrigued... CT
  18. Hi Michel! Those vintage VW,s have a certain mystique to them, that's certain. CT
  19. Hi Ray! I always knew that we shared a sense of humor! Thanks for the comments. CT
