  1. Thank you Anders! CT
  2. Thank you Roger! Speaking of paint, I just finished shooting a 58 TBird custom with the "recipe" you were kind enough to share with me (AS-29 + Pearl clear + TS-13). It turned out great. I'll post it on this forum in a few weeks. Stay tuned! Have a great 2022. CT
  3. Hi Francis! Well, this is a great idea. Let me see... The actual 72 Ranchero kits (my favorite year) are hard to come by, so, I might build such a "4 door Ranchero" out of two 87 TBird bodies I have in my stash, or even better, two 92 Mercury Cougar. This way, we would have supercharged V6 power, and 4 wheel independant suspension! I'll take out my caliper, and start checking the mash-up possibilities tomorrow morning. Stay tuned! Of course, I know you were suggesting a 1/1 car. I'd like it, but there is a 70 Challenger awaiting completion in my garage, and a friend has a 67 Mustang ProTouring under construction, in which he needs my help. So, we'll have to wait a bit, I'm afraid... But the idea has potential, in the age of the ever-present SUV! You'll be more than welcome to join on our next show. Alas, I can't see when it's gonna be, with the Covid resurgence. And I'll have to increase my auto insurance coverage if you bring your "small" box along, because I know it is ultra-precious cargo! Happy 2022, hope to see you soon! CT
  4. Hi David! What an eclectic collection, very interesting. I ljust ove the trebuchet. The details are impressive. Bravo! CT
  5. Hi Ludwig! Nice collection, and your paint finishing technique is World Class. Bravo! CT
  6. Thank you Carl! Good health and a good 2022 to you! CT
  7. Thank you Lee! The base is House of Kolor, topped with Testor's WetLook clear. The "effects" were done with various Gel Pen (2.29$ each at Michael's). I tried to recreate the crazy early 70's CobWebbing effect, but with less trouble than spraying it in the conventionnal manner. Just a fun experiment... CT
  8. Hi Eric! You, Sir, know how to paint black cars. Bravo! Bonne année! CT
  9. Thank you Oliver! CT
  10. Hi Steve! Excellent work, the wheels are great. Bravo. Now, since it is January first, it's time for new year's resolutions. So, repeat after me: "2022 will be the year of sanding, and even more sanding! " Keep on, very interesting. CT
  11. Thank you Chazz! Don't forget that, at some point, time can be substituted for talent. Don't ask me how I know... CT
  12. Hi Greg! Thanks for the comments. Why bother to choose? Enjoy them all! CT
  13. Hi Bruce! What a formidable, eclectic collection. Bravo! CT
  14. Hi RRR! All are great, but I can't help notice that, like yours truly, you have a soft spot for the 53 Stude! Can't argue with that! Bravo! CT
  15. Hi Gareth! Thanks for the comments. I also have a soft spot for the Starliner with the Alter Nomad roof. I called it "MadLiner". An experiment with an old can of Metalflake Cherry Candy Lacquer... CT
  16. Thank you! I should have known it was a custom, because I nerver saw anything exactly li it. The Chezoom by Coddington had a slim single bar, but it was much more straight, and would not fit my needs. So, I guess I will scratchbuild one as you did. Hope mine turns out as good as yours... Masterfull work! CT
  17. Hi John! Thanks for the comments, and the picture. This is a 69, and the slimmer rear pillars almost makes it akin to the "bubble top" variety of the early 60's (from the side, at least!). Reminds me of some concept cars that Detroit commissionned with Italian coach builders in the early 60's. I think one was called the "Rondine", but I can't remember on which OEM car it was based. The Corvette, maybe? CT
  18. Hi Dennis! Thanks for the infos and the link. If I may, one more question: What is the provenance of the chromed grille insert bar on the Chevy? I'm finishing a custom these days, and it would be a perfect addition... Thanks! CT CT
  19. Hi Dennis! Three superb models, bravo! Do I see the door panels from Buttera's Tall-T in your A-Pick-up, or is-it a scratchbuilt component? Just curious... CT
  20. Thank you Mike! I was in your neck of the woods once, for the NSRA in Knoxville. I loved it! CT
  21. Hi John! Thanks for the compliments. Your Camaro idea could be very stylish, I agree. The only Camaro I ever did was the highly modified 69 (see below). But I might steal your idea in 2022, who knows... I have the Corvair in my stash, and I'll be on the lookout for the original Camaro! Have a safe 2022! CT
  22. Thank you Bill! Well, it gets a lot of second glances... and generates a lot of questions. That's the fun part! CT
  23. You are right. Around 2006, at the Rhinebeck NY Goodguys event, a gentleman from Conn. had a black 29 roadster with a complete SHO powertrain and transaxle in the trunk! Needless to say, it was the talk of the fairground. CT
  24. Thank you Robert! I'll pick-it up at my next visit... This would be a very nice engine to put in a street-rod. Dare to be different! CT
  25. Hi! The MPC Daytona transporter (concept truck) has a FWD Pontiac 6 and transaxle. Can't comment on the detail level, however, but I will look at the one in my stash. I also recently saw an AMT Taurus Police car, dating back about 10 years, at an OOP specialized shop, and the box stated it had a V6 engine. The box was sealed, so I could not verify if it was the Duratech or the good old 3.8. Maybe someone having built that kit would know? CT
