  2. Thank you David! Truth be told, I never rode in a Pacer, but I would certainly jump at the occasion if I ever could! CT
  3. Hi Marcos! It's obvious a ton of work went intio this car. I suspect that if I look up the word "menacing" in the Webster, this is the picture that will accompany it... Bravo! CT
  4. Hi Rusty! They came from MPC's 72 Chevy PU, a "Rides" edition if I remember correctly. The are large diameter, low profile, so a shoe-in for this vehicle... CT
  5. Thank you David! there's no such thing as useless leftover parts. Something had to happen... CT
  6. Hi Bill! I agree: the guy in the ponycar would be taken aback! CT
  7. HI! I always try to "think outside the box"... So here's my late-Hemi, twin turbo, rear engine Pro-Touring Charger. Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  8. Thank you Michael! I actually found the Wizard image online. It seemed to be the logo for a sports team: Mad Wizard. I downloaded it, and changed the proportions a bit, and blackened the lower part of the "robe" to erase the top of the actual lettering. Voilà! CT
  9. Hi Sir! Ugly fast: I like it. The Pacer never left anyone without a strong opinion. I guess it's still true! CT
  10. Hi Tim! Thank you so much for sharing a gallery of Mr. Woodruff's creations. I followed his presence in the hobby over so many years, and I'm always impressed by his imagination and creativity. On this forum, he visited and commented on many of my builds, and needless to say, it's flattering to have "Mr. NNL" (or yourself, for that matter) drop by! He even shared with me, via personnal emails, pictures of some of the creative kitbashes he is working on... Talk about a scoop! Somehow, you discover that those who have been so immersed in the hobby for so long, like Mister NNL and yourself, represent the true creativity and camaderie of this community. Regards, CT
  11. Hi Steve! Well, my dear Sherlock, it seems you solved the mystery. I guess it is indeed an MPC. Only the wheels were different on mine: the five spoke "star spokes" aluminium dish mags. I think yours are different... No problem with posting your pics: this forum is to share, and I enjoy that! Thanks for shedding some light. Now, maybe JOHAN purists won't get mad at me for "destroying" a rare specimen: It occured to me once at a model show. Oh well... CT
  12. Hi Mathias! So, it makes us two smiling... Happy you like it! CT
  13. Hi Steve! Thanks for the comments. To your point: it was also the first time I saw a Pacer promo. Mine was harvest yellow, and pristine. Even though I cannot swear that it was a Johan product, dismounting it showed all the usual hallmarks of previous Johan promos I bought and transformed, mostly Javelins of 68 & 69 vintage. I also saw a few online on Ebay. I know MPC issued a kit of the car, but judging from the hood & grille, I think it is not the same model year. Maybe someone may shed more light on that... CT
  14. Thank you Bruce! If you build it, the only precaution is to temporarely mount the front axle in place with white glue when you cement the lateral frame rails to the front and rear xmembers... The slightest longitudinal mis-alignement of the sides will severely affect the level stance of the front axle. And my experience of many kits produced by Johan at the end of the Seville renaissance show that the persons who handled the hot freshly molded parts found all manners of bending them before they cooled. Oh well... CT
  15. Hi Steve! Thank you. You are right... It's almost a sleeper. My goal was to create something that would look like a car you could drive off the dealer's lot, BEFORE the typical "day 2" musclecar adds of the era (Cragar mags, traction bars, etc.) So, I passed on the tubbed rear tires, dropped spindles, and al. An editorial choice of sorts... CT
  16. Hi! To me, the Pacer is the embodiment of "walking to a different drummer"... I know the car always raised comments and contreversy, but at least, it was unique! I was lucky to find a very clean Johan promo, and kitbased it with Revell's Corvette purple concept car chassis and powertrain. I added a scratchbuilt interior (floor, rear shelf, tunnel, console, door panels), opened and reversed the hood, and cleaned the exterior with custom molded bumpers. Amt's S10 Xtreme rolling stock. Tamya's lacquers in the prevalent hues of the era. Not really a "Hellcat", but this thing should move! Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  17. Hi Steve! Your drag bus is very impressive. I can see the details have been well tought of, like the lower side windows for the driver. Great! CT
  18. Thank you for posting. Many interesting ideas! CT
