Tamiya TS23 Light Blue straight from the spray can, a few coats of clear and some polishing compound, aftermarket chalk tire decals for some extra detailing…otherwise straight out of the box

I wanted to do something a little different with this one, having only seen the original black versions built. I found this quite a complex kit and the decals weren’t the easiest to work with but overall happy with the result

I used some imagination with colours on this one, my colour blind eyes found an automotive spray that I thought matched the early Red Bull blue, I went for an aluminum interior, red seat and gun metal wheels, a change from the black rims I always paint for my GT cars. First time using polishing compound too, a bit to learn there. Overall happy with the look and the Hobby Design decals were an absolute pleasure to work with

Overall I’m happy with the outcome but this was a very challenging masking and decal project, probably suited to someone with more patience and skills than me! These Audi kits have their quirks but despite some shortcomings they do build into good looking and well proportioned examples
