Yes they are from the kit, both chopper kits come with a set. They are just 2 halves but still are quite nice. -

Another Revell chopper - rake and extended springer
Stingray69 replied to gowjobs's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The long tank looks much better, with the rake you got there the small looked too small. Revell should of included the springer as an option! Nice paint as well 8) -

I've machined a few parts before on a friends lathe... this is top notch work man! Looks so much better than the plastic one!

Well it seems you guys like WILD so I've decided to start my other chopper. This one will be well detailed and customized. So far I took the skull air cleaner and attatched the handle bars to it. I may scratch new bars later... The triple trees are from the aces wild kit, I used the the trees from this kit (crusader) on my other bike for more of the rider friendly look. I want this one to make the woman and children cry when its done I plan on using some brass on it (what else is new, lol) for the old school sissy bar, and possible a new tank. All chrome will be stripped and rechromed with alclad. Early mock up: This will be a slow project, the pro mod comes first!

WIP: 66 Nova Pro Mod (some more scratchbuilding!)
Stingray69 replied to Stingray69's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The firewall is now 100% complete. Overall it is made up of 14 individual pieces. Real tig welds were simulated through out the whole firewall, they show up better under paint especially the steel color. The center piece of the firewall may look strange to some so let me explain.... The bell housing will bolt onto the front piece of the firewall where the small hole is and when I say bolt I mean I'm actually using tiny nuts and bolts... on the other side the 3 speed trans will bolt on to that side, a small shaft will ensure the two pieces line up. I ordered a new airbrush as well just to paint this project! Should arrive next week, until then nothing is getting painted except for some quick coats of primer. I haven't had much time to work on this, the last couple days here have been just way to nice to sit inside and model. 2 Weeks ago I added a blower shroud. This was an idea I had for another project about year ago. I took a L88 scoop off a 69 Vette and then just molded into the front clip. I only want the blower scoop exposed like on Jim Oddy's Pro Mods Not sure if I already said this here... but I plan on replicating EVERY detail on a real pro mod car from a parachute lever to a chassis certification sticker. I know it looks kind of empty right now but get ready! If it ever gets done I'm hoping to get into the mag. -

Again I have no problems with your opinions I just prefer feedback more than views I guess... I post my work more to hear what people think then just them viewing it. I created my website for people to view my work, I come here for the feedback whether its good OR bad. And like I said yes it was a very simplistic build but after working on my pro mod for days this was a long time coming.

Right now I build models because I can't afford the real thing I just didn't understand why so many other builds were getting replies and mine was just being over looked. I probably wouldn't of said anything if it were another build but it was my first chopper build I felt like I did something wrong because it was being overlooked. I did mix match some parts on it, nothing major though, I'm saving that for my next bike. I think there is more than nothing there and plenty to comment on. Yes it wasn't relatively box stock looking but sometimes its nice to get away from the brass scratchbuilding I do. It just seems none of my builds really get that popular on here, and I know its not a popularity contest but I like feedback, doesn't matter if its good or bad. Just let me know if I did or am doing well, whats the point of posting it on here then? Jairus no offence taken either, I respect your opinion. Fastback glad you like the avatar

I wouldn't recommend nail polish remover unless the body is diecast. Sometimes it works great without problems, but it can lead to a mess because the acetone eats the plastic real bad. I was able to get away with it once but the last time I used that it destroyed the body. If you decide to use nail polish remover use NON acetone.

Model Express is in my opinion the best online store for model kits and more. I've had at least 20 orders with them and not one problem. The shipping times beat anyone out there easily. Highly recommend! Model Express
