  1. It was an aftermarket resin chassis,...I’m not 100% but I think it may have come from speed city. From that I built out my own suspension set up with the front moved forward small amount
  2. Gorgeous job Guy!! I’ve been digging through my parts box trying to find the right size slicks for my build. Where did you source your slicks from? They’re exactly what I’m looking for
  3. That appears to be an old mpc funny car chassis. Same chassis ( other than the tin work ) as this kit. I may be interested in a trade
  4. The story I read was that grumpy was unhappy with the chin spoiler and decided to hack it off.
  5. No, the rear tires are parts box and rear wheels are resin aftermarket narrowed then alcladed.
  6. Lol... well as luck would have it, there is a good hobby shop nearby as well as hobby lobby
  7. Hi Scott, I made the scoop. Sides, front and back are styrene and the top piece was a slightly reworked parts box piece. I think it may have been from an old monogram 56 Chevy kit
  8. Hi Jim, I’m upstate... Albany area
  9. Hi Mark, I know there’s a few guys on here utilizing various chassis’s which looks good but at least with this one I’m doing it primarily box stock other than occasional parts box piece or adjustment here or there.
  10. Well, made some progress rather quickly. I dove into my “junkyard stash” and grabbed previously built gtx very. to use as my test fitting buck. I figured I’d rather use it to file and fit first than transfer end result to final ( new) chassis. It didn’t take much filing/ reshaping of the rear chassis sides, firewall and rad support. You can see the light blue plastic were it was filed.
  11. Here’s the other one I’ve been sitting on waiting to start. Doing a Dyno Don version
  12. Got this off eBay few years ago. Disassembled it and threw it in the purple pond. Finally getting around to starting on it. Overall it’s in really good shape. Using amt 69 gt vert. as donor for chassis, eng. compartment,suspension..etc. Raided the parts box for some other stuff. Going with 440, 4 spd, wheel covers and heavily leaning towards Q5 turquoise and white interior
  13. Unfortunately with this one after sitting for years some of the decals have dried badly and flaked away but for the most part it’s held up. One issue discovered from sitting for so long is the hood doesn’t want to come off. I used slixx decals which unfortunately didn’t include the mural on the trunk
  14. I’ve got a bunch of stuff I need chromed and I just found out chrome tech is now closed . I know alclad, Molotow, etc.... but some things I just prefer to just be chromed the old fashioned way lol like chrome tech did. Is there any other vendors out there doing it?? Any help would be appreciated
  15. Thank you Niko ?
  16. Thanks Brandon, IIRC the wheels came from the Amt 70 chevelle kit. As for the tires ,they came from my parts box but I’ve had them for probably 20 years. They were from an aftermarket company but I can’t recall which one. Nowadays they’re fairly readily available from many kits and aftermarket sources.
  17. I see what your saying ,...I’d be reluctant to apply them as well
  18. Usually when doing wood grain my method is I paint a base color down ( depending on the shade desired for end result) a shade of tan. Next I follow up with various shades of fine tip brown sharpies for grain. After that I have an old square bottle of basic testors brown in which most of the pigment has settled leaving a translucent brown at the top of the jar. I put a coat of that over the top and done. You can put more layers on to darken it or start with a darker shade of tan as a base.
  19. NICE!!! Very sharp
  20. Whoopiekat has a set for el cid but his set is for a black version. Not sure of the differences but they might help
  21. I definitely prefer back in the day
