  1. Thanks ,Randy. I really appreciate the compliment.
  2. The only reason I use the Testors sheets is because they are readily available at Hobby Lobby and with a 40% off coupon they are not to expensive. They are however pretty hard to work with . That is why i put multiple images on the sheets. If I mess up I don't have to print a whole new sheet. If you build a white car you can use clear sheets and you don't have to cut the image out exactly on its edge.
  3. Matt, I created them with an Adobe Photodeluxe 2.0 program and printed them out on an HP 4500 Office jet printer.I got the images from pictures from the internet. I used Testors white decal sheets and will cut out the images as close to the edge as possible. I will touch them up with some decanted paint, as necessary, and then seal them with future.
  4. Finally got the three decal sheets done. Hopefully I can get them on next weekend.
  5. I'm about half way through creating the decals for the model. I started at the nose and am slowly working my way back. There are so many decals on the modern cars. I did come up with a faster way of sizing the decals so that shoud help.
  6. Excellent job.
  7. I realized that the yellow rockers ,front spoiler and lower rear bumper were not a solid color yellow so I will have to make a decal for them so I needed a white base for the decals. I also touched up some other items.
  8. Awesome job bringing it back to life. Excellent work.
  9. I heard it was Almendinger. Hopefully he will be a better team mate then Kurt was.
  10. Got the model done except for the antennas on the roof, the fuel filler and some detail painting. Only big thing left is finishing the decal sheets.
  11. Amt chose to put black lines thru the Goodyear lettering which the real cars don't have. I took a sharpened tooth pick and touched up the letters. I will seal the tires later with some clear dull coat lacquer.
  12. If you haven't built one of these kits yet this is what the finished interior/chassis looks like. With a little bit of paint you can make it look a lot better when the body is installed over it. To get the 1/4 glasses to fit, first you put some masking tape behind the window opening. Then cut it out with a #11 xacto blade. Then you stick the tape to the back of the 1/4 glass and cut the excess plastic off making it a little larger than the opening. You then take sanding sticks and slowly remove material till the glass fits in the opening. All thats left is putting a new border around the glass.
  13. Got it painted. Looks darker in real life.
  14. As I post this I had just finished shooting the blue and it turned out ok. These are the ready for paint pics. Hopefully I can get the painted pictures posted tommorow.
  15. Yes, i found many photos at Brad's website but the one at Carlisle was huge and big pictures dont pixalate as badly when you reduce them to fit the model. they have more pixels per inch to start with.
  16. Another great job. Ward drove that car at one time in the Busch series.
  17. Thanks,Ron. I found a big picture of Brad's car at the Carlisle website which will help greatly in making the decals.
  18. Almost forgot the sharkfin. Added it this morning. Need to reprime the body one more time and I think I will finally be able to shoot the blue. The Tamiya paint goes on so smoothly I am hoping I wont have to polish it out.

    Nice conversion to Bel Air.
  21. Great start , Niko I'll be watching.
  22. 95% denatured alchohol is a little hotter than the isopropol alchohol and works faster and is still safe for the plastic.
  23. Great job. Where did you get the decals?
  24. Another great job O.C.. Too bad Three Amigos does not do Nascar sheets anymore.
