  1. I heard it was Almendinger. Hopefully he will be a better team mate then Kurt was.
  2. Got the model done except for the antennas on the roof, the fuel filler and some detail painting. Only big thing left is finishing the decal sheets.
  3. Amt chose to put black lines thru the Goodyear lettering which the real cars don't have. I took a sharpened tooth pick and touched up the letters. I will seal the tires later with some clear dull coat lacquer.
  4. If you haven't built one of these kits yet this is what the finished interior/chassis looks like. With a little bit of paint you can make it look a lot better when the body is installed over it. To get the 1/4 glasses to fit, first you put some masking tape behind the window opening. Then cut it out with a #11 xacto blade. Then you stick the tape to the back of the 1/4 glass and cut the excess plastic off making it a little larger than the opening. You then take sanding sticks and slowly remove material till the glass fits in the opening. All thats left is putting a new border around the glass.
  5. Got it painted. Looks darker in real life.
  6. As I post this I had just finished shooting the blue and it turned out ok. These are the ready for paint pics. Hopefully I can get the painted pictures posted tommorow.
  7. Yes, i found many photos at Brad's website but the one at Carlisle was huge and big pictures dont pixalate as badly when you reduce them to fit the model. they have more pixels per inch to start with.
  8. Another great job. Ward drove that car at one time in the Busch series.
  9. Thanks,Ron. I found a big picture of Brad's car at the Carlisle website which will help greatly in making the decals.
  10. Almost forgot the sharkfin. Added it this morning. Need to reprime the body one more time and I think I will finally be able to shoot the blue. The Tamiya paint goes on so smoothly I am hoping I wont have to polish it out.

    60 Bel Air

    Nice conversion to Bel Air.
  13. Great start , Niko I'll be watching.
  14. 95% denatured alchohol is a little hotter than the isopropol alchohol and works faster and is still safe for the plastic.
  15. Great job. Where did you get the decals?
  16. Another great job O.C.. Too bad Three Amigos does not do Nascar sheets anymore.
  17. Got it reprimed but realized I had forgotten the sharkfin that extends down the side of the backglass and over to the rear spoiler. I thought i would be able to shoot the blue this Thursday but I guess not.
  18. Here are some shots after the first two color priming. I will block sand the top white color off to reveal the gray undercoat and this should get rid of a lot of dips , scratches and pin holes. When you first start to sand white dots ,lines and spots will appear. These are pinholes, sand scratches and depressions. The dark lines and spots that appear are high spots and ridges. If you continue to sand just until the white primer goes away you should have a pretty smooth body ready for the final primer coat. I have to decide if the final color looks better over white primer or dark gray. I sprayed two small pieces of styrene with each primer and will paint them with the blue and compare them to actual pictures of the real car to see which is closer.
  19. Beautiful, This was my dream car back in the day but the closest I got to getting one was a 68 GTO.
  20. Excellent as always, O.C.
  21. Added the grille to the front and whatever holds the spoiler on the real car to the rear spoiler.
  22. Its just a shelfer. No need for an engine.
  23. If you use a revell Dodge engine it would not fit between the frame rails or allow enough room for a radiator. It is just too big at 1/24 scale to fit in this 1/25 scale model.
  24. Lanny, I could see where it could be done but I do not know where to find a 1/25 scale engine. If you used an engine from a 2007 1/24 scale Revell kit it would not look right. It would be way too big. AMT could have sold a lot more of these kits if they had just made them 1/24 scale. It would not have been that much more plastic in each kit to have done it. Pretty bad decision on their part.
