Started on the frame. Pretty basic molded frame. I just needed to remove the molded in exhaust and fill in the voids with putty. I will add dual exhaust like the real car had. Nothing really detailed will be done to the frame.
Added padding to the roll bars. Used tubing that would fit over the roll bar tubing. Will fix the voids in the tubing with putty. Flat black should make them look like rubber.
Great job on the Pontiac, Jon. I believe that is the car Buck Baker drove in place of Jack Smith that took the Southern 500 in 1960. Like you said the Catalina was a little shorter and made a better race car than the Bonneville.
I think its ready for primer and then the final sanding, I need to add a bolster to the right side of the seat that the drivers used to lean against in the turns.
Did some sanding on the seat and added some more putty. Will keep shaping and adding putty till the seat some what resembles the refrence picture I found for a 61 Ford Thunderbird.
