Slim, I used a chisel type exacto knife to remove the exhaust pipe ,muffler and tailpipe. When you remove the muffler and parts of the tailpipe it leaves a hole in the chassis. I backed up the holes with small pieces of sheet styrene and then filled in the holes with squadron putty. After it dried I tryed to match the floor details as best I could with various exacto blades. If you look closely at where the muffler was you can see that its not quite the same as the other side. It definitely is the amt chassis. I have an R/M 56 kit but I'm saving it to do Rex White's number X, 56 Chevy. Thanks for the props on the job,but if I had a more close up picture you would see it's not that great. I just could not leave that ugly molded in exhaust even though its a curbside shelfer.

Kind of like the first Chevy to win a Nascar race. I used pictures of the car later in the year to build the model.

Living near Houston, I always root for the underdog. Plus I have a lot of baggage against the Steelers from being a former Oilers fan. So Go Cardinals.

The breakfast nook table. I keep all my stuff in two big plastic storage containers in the spare bed room which you can hardly walk in and out of. I transport the stuff I need to the table and then take it back to the storage bins when I'm through for the morning. I dont mind because the breakfast nook has a nice view of the back yard and I don't feel couped up like I would if I had a permanent place to work like back in that bedroom where I would be staring at a wall while I worked. There's just too much stuff in there to even make enough room to work. We use it for storage because we keep both cars in the garage.

I drive a 2002 Trailblazer every day to work but Our new vehicle we got last summer is a 2008 Equinox Sport. It looks just like the picture below but its black. My wife saw one at the car show and fell in love with it. I wanted her to get an Impala SS with the V8 but she said it was too big for her to handle. We could have got it for just about the same price that we paid for the Equinox. The little "Effer" will get up and go but it has alot of torque steer and the first time I went to pass an 18 wheeler on a twisty 2 lane road it scared the you no what out of me. You'd think by now they could have solved that problem. Maybe the motor just puts out too much power for the suspension. It's still alot of fun to drive for an suv but I really would have rather had the Impala SS.

Thanks James. I hope to paint the body tomorrow and install the engine and exhaust to the frame. I'm going to brush paint it because I have noticed that acryl goes on just as smooth or smoother with a brush then with an air brush. You have to sand and polish acryl anyway so if there are any brush strokes I can just sand them away and then polish. Plus I don't have to go out in the garage to use my airbrush and then clean it.

Another in a long line of excellent builds. You are a true Master of this hobby. Mick, be sure to post your finished builds in "Under Glass" also, where more people can see them.

If your camera has a macro feature try using it next time so we can see your work a little better. The work however from what I can see looks fantastic.

This is my favorite Rex White car because he won the championship in one some what like this.

Trying to build a reasonable facsimile to the real car that Fonty won with in 1955. All I have are 3 fuzzy black and white photos to go by so its going to be a guess on most of it. I do know that the body color is red and black. So far since I took these pictures I have finished the interior ,engine, wheels and tires, and frame. The body is primed and ready for paint and I have done the artwork for two of the contengency decals and both left and right quarter panel sponsor decals.
