  1. Epoxy is not only choice in bonding dis-similar materials (resin to plastic to metal to….) it's the only stuff that really works in securing window "glass" without fogging (like CA glues will do) and popping loose (like the white-glue based "canopy adhesives"). Just have to be careful if it get's "string-y" as that can ruin your day. I apply it with a long, wooden dowel so I have good reach with a SMALL amount.
  2. Nice back-drop showcasing NYC …. what a rat-hole the city was back then.
  3. Your doing a really nice job. Paint, foil, engine details, and interior are all adding up to some sweet eye-candy. What wheels are you using?
  4. That was a common problem with those windshields. Fortunately it's a smooth compound curve than can be easily fabricated. Make a paper cut-out the size needed, polish & cut a piece of clear plastic (I use the clear windows in consumer packaging that has the contents exposed) and use tape and/or props to hold it in position and tack the corners and top & bottom centers with a dot of epoxy. I did a short tutorial in a previous build up. Search the Metal Mistress thread for it. BTW: My apologies…. VERY cool build. I have a friend that owns a `62 Max Wedge and has a `63 Savoy with a 440-6 bbl.
  5. Way cool Dan. Nice job on your build! Love seeing more `68's being built.
  6. I'm getting my first one the end of June when my Sister comes up to visit us. I know what I want, I just haven't finalized it yet.
  7. Here's another clip of young people covering a popular tune. Aaron Okeffe has a bunch of videos of kids covering some good stuff. The Pantera covers are amazing…. this one kid nails Dime's guitar playing.
  8. I had found a beautiful Aspen wagon with a 360-auto-A/C-power steering, etc…. Gorgeous car. Wife said "no more used cars, especially special-interest cars" as daily drivers. Besides, if it (unlikely) blows-up, someone else fixes it.
  9. I agree. The plates are almost identical to the 1968 version and look at home on the Barracuda.
  10. I commute almost 60 miles a day, morning drive being mostly 50-75 MPH, coming home I might hit 50…. I need comfort, so lowering is out. As much as I'd like to throw some meaty sneakers & rims on this thing, my financial advisor (the same person whom doesn't approve of nitrous…) says to forget about doing anything of the sort. And again, low profile tires don't work in Queens, or pretty much anywhere in the city. Our roads are horrible. That's why the Barracuda has steelies and the Centerlines are for sale. I ran it to rehearsal last night: 3 guitar cases, two small practice amps, and a powered vocal monitor, plus a case of dog food. Could have swallowed the same amount once more…. My biggest concern is the fuel consumption. The Maxima was costing me about $340 a month for gas……
  11. Thinking of Plasti-dipping the alloys Black. Don't really like the satin look. I've owned too many primered or roached-out beaters to make a new car look old on purpose. I joked about a set of Lime Green wheels and a trash-can exhaust tip. And stickers…. Plenty of stickers angled on the left side of the rear window. And a tow hook. Nothing says my car is badd-ass like a tow hook….. I'm going to throw it out to my co-workers tomorrow and get ideas.
  12. CHILDREN killing a Tool cover. While Tool may not be a universally appreciated group (one of my favorites) they ARE a musical tour-de-force. Stand-out's are the drummer and vocalist. Not easy stuff to play, these kids got skills.
  13. The same applies to so many bands. Look at the garbage that they're sampling classics into today….
  14. OMG….. It's just as cool as it is weird!
  15. I needed a new car with good fuel mileage, but this is what I have to work with. 2013 Honda FIT Sport. Has a 100 miles on it, it needed to be customized. It's Black with a Black interior. The windows will be tinted this week and I'm going to talk with the painter at my shop about some subtle ghost-flames on the nose…… and all the emblems will be removed or Black epoxy-paint. With only 117 HP I joked about a 75 shot of nitrous to level the playing field. The Wife said "no".
  16. Beautiful combination. Please post more of your work.
  17. Those N's were ridiculous…. remember them well. They never looked right on anything. L-60's were the "standard" amongst the street machines.
  18. Everyone is missing the point: L-60's were the standard rear tire on your jacked up Chevelle or GTO. But they would NEVER FIT on the front wheels, as depicted in a print ad they have out advertising the tire sets, on the front of a Camaro. Yes, it's a huge technical inaccuracy, for those that pay attention to this stuff. Just wondering why/how this happens. Yes, I know. We're treading on 7 cylinder distributor cap territory here or upside down valve covers. Does it REALLY MATTER? I guess not….
  19. L-60-15's were the biggest tire we'd use "back in the day" on our cars. In order to fit them you either installed a set of air shocks, of you installed stiffer springs in order to fit them on the back. You would never be able to mount them on the FRONT of a Camaro. Why would AMT let that blooper out?
  20. Why does AMT have print ad's for their beautiful new muscle car tire set and mount the L-60's on the FRONT of a first generation Camaro? The front. Really?L-60's!?!
  21. Click the QUOTE icon in the lower right corner of the posted reply. It's down here l l l V
  22. Sorry Alan, I forgot to add that the headers are the Hemi headers from the Dart kit. I just clipped. & moved the two center pipes together at the flange. They fit perfect.
  23. Thank you Ira. I appreciate the compliment!
