  1. finally got the body glued on. only a few more details and reworking the damaged hood. ill get the last fuel lines and the radiator in tomorrow.then a few body parts,lights rear window and door handles.have to find a good spot to take the finish pictures
  2. hi trevor thank you for your comments .are you close to oak island ? hi mike thanks for looking. hi andrew you are close to my world in port st lucie.this is the cylinder block side plates that bolt on.the slots are .032 and the fins are.016.
  3. while waiting for glue and paint to cure i have started the engine for my next project. i started a post in roadrace and saltflats forum.these are the begining of the offy 270 indy style engine. got the mustang body glued on. i droped the mustang hood and a piece broke off .i have to fix and repaint.nice to hear from you larry and francis
  4. i have built 2 of these in aluminum 1 to 1 years ago with 1930 model a running gear. i always wanted to do one more modern and low with big tires and a powerful motor. so i am now going to do it in 1/8.i have started on the offy 270 and here are a few pictures. i will try to find some pictures of the 1 to 1 cars as a reference. these cars were built from original blue prints drawn by a man whose name was Ray F. kuns. the green car and the white car are 2 of the from that print.the bare aluminum is the green car. i built the brass body , chassis and wheels years ago. and decided to finish it only a little different. i havent decided on rearend but i am thinking independant quick change and streight axle front with quarter elliptic springs . i have a nice aluminum droped axle i made i think would look good. let me know what you think suggestions are welcome.
  5. thank you to all of you guys.its always nice to hear from you. continuing assembly and polishing.i have kept busy while glue is setting and paint is drying by starting the engine for my next project. its an offy 270 in 1/8 scale. here are more of the finishing photos. engine in for the final time and most of what goes with it. the body is almost ready to finally glue on. a picture of the throttle linkage as it was machined and on the car.those tiny throttle rod ends are tuff to see and install. i have a few pictures furthur along but i cant find them. thanks for your nice comments. ill come back if i can find them. thenkyou

  7. moving along with all the details and some assembly.finised the fuel pressure reg. today and received more fittings from RB today. already thinking of my next project. i am going to finish a model i started years ago. should finish this one first i think and i will.the paint is looking good since sanding up to 8000 and is ready for final polish.

  9. thank all you guys for your kind comments. you all do such incredible work, its an honor that you take the time to look at my progress and take the time to share your thoughts. assy. is continuing. some good some difficult. i have now got a battery and cable ends. some wires and all my brake lines. i machined a fuel pump today but did not take any pictures. more to do more to come.
  10. thank you all for your comments. i finished the steering shaft. making the ujoints was fun. and they do work. i am happy with the solenoid . started wiring todah. making the terminal ends takes alot of time but its fun. finished assembly of the doors, there is alot to the doors on this model. the windows go up and down. i may glue them in one position. thanks again for looking.
  11. hi francis. your truck is so much fun to look at. the wireing and brake lines are so cleanliy done.i was having a hard time locating wire that looked correct and i saw in a forum a suggestion to use wire from usb cables. they are very nice.also in a phone cable.more colors in the phone cable.i hope spring has sprung up north.ill be watching for more on your truck .charlie
  12. thank you ian and jimmy.i just sprayed the clear yesterday. i think it came out well. a little sandin and polish will make it look good. got those shocks installed that i forgot to make.

  15. thanks for the nice comments. i hope to get the clear on the body this week. i have it on the doors and trunk and they look pretty good. i have the shocks and mounts made for the frontend that i forgot to make. will install tomorrow. hi mike my sister and her husband live in motesville next to philippi wv.
  16. been moving along . making 20 lug nuts is time consuming. i made all the pieces of the steering u-joints. final assembly on the front suspension and noticed it had no shocks. dumb mistake but easy to fix. body is ready for clear . lugs are painted with rustoleum metalic paint. i think it works great. put it together enough just to see it .

  20. doing some paint and final assy. things. trying to assemble the doors with roll up windows.i need 4 hands . i got the 5 inch tach made and the mounting brackets also. the gas pedal is made but not installed. i have the shifter boot plat made and polished but not the boot. going to the gasser races in shelby, north carolina this weekend. they run on the 1967 rulebook. its alot of fun. its the southeast gasser assoc.great videos on you tube.
  21. i nolonger can think of anything to say. you must be a some kind of super alien from a faraway planet. WOW WOW WOW!!!!!! that rear belongs on a shelf buy itself for people to admire.

  23. thanks marcos.i put screws in the float bowl and put on the linkage.i also put allen bolts in the manifold bolt holes.alot of stuff happening in a small area. i hope to put the orange paint on the body tomorrow, the white came out nice.

  25. thank you all for your comments and encouragement. it means alot coming from such a talented group .i dont get on here as often as i should and i have to constantly remind myself to take pictures.here are a few of my master cylinder and the start of the pedal assy. wilwood as you can see. and the colors i have chosen.i hope it will look good in these 2 colors . i pinted the doors and trunk for practice and to see if the colors went together well the door is just set in the opening to show the colors. what do you think,are they going to look good together ?
