  4. still working on the engine. alot of little detail parts .havent got much done in the last month.been out of comission alot.i think its looking pretty good i hope you all like it so far. if you have any suggestion please feel free to do so.i am also working on the chassis .i will have pictures to show this week. got a good start on the transmission a ford top loader ofcourse. the shifter next.hope you are all being safe and healthy out there.
  5. thank you trevor and francis.a few small details left on the cards and they will be done. the bell housing is aluminum francis and i sand blasted it .
  6. i love the kurtis cars.they are amazing cars i have a couple of books on indycars and those are my favorite for sure. i have been a custom metal fabricator foe over 49 years and am now retired so i still need my fix so, models .this forum is great.i enjoy scratch building. heres a few pictures of a 32 ford i started in brass.its 1/8 scale.it was taking so long i lost interest.i have been working on 2 other projects.i thik i may get back to the 32 after i finish my 65 mustang gasser. keep up the excellent work.i will be watching your progress.
  7. wow ,a truly nice build. your louvers are awesome.i am in the planing stage of making a jig to roll curved louvers or louvers of various lengths. your machine is very cool and surely does a great job.
  8. havent been on the forum for a couple of weeks.hope everybody had a good thanksgiving and i hope everyone is well. i have been working on the mustang some .still havent taken finished photos of the corvette.got a few new pictures of the mustang engine i would like to share and see what you think.the carbs are very time consuming.i have a good start on a fabricated tunnel ram.i went to the gasser drag races last weekend in holt fla. it was great. the southeast gasser association put on a great show.

  11. hi francis a little sanding and detail work i think they will look fine.got to finish the heads but am still looking at pictures and i think i have what i need.the timing cover and water pump is going to be tricky. if its half as nice as tims i will be excited. plug wire holders are going to be tough to hold on to to file and finish.i have some small diameter delrin on order to make the spark plug boots.i am going to a music store on thursday to check out some steel strings,thanks again.
  12. i have a close friend that work on the wood brothers nascar team and he is trying to find out if there is any way to get drawings thru ford.if i have a really good picture and one dimension i can get pretty close.here is a few pictures of my valve covers so far. going to require a lot of filing and sanding. got to finish the front side of the heads and the exh. and intake ports. i have not decided on which intacke and carbs. fender well headers of course.
  13. thanks you all for the nice feedback.thanks for the info i will look at that also. here is a little engine update.stock block and oil pan.its realy hard to find any drawings and dimentions for ford engines.chevy engines there are blueprints and drawings all over the internet.working on the heads and valve covers now.

  15. just machining delrin smells bad. a few more pictures. its going well. got to get smaller wire for the metal brake lines. ordered .028 stainless safteywire ,should be perfect the .036 on the rear is to big. engine block is coming along. thankyou for loking i hope you enjoy looking at other peoples projects as i do

  21. unbelieveable workmanship.i am amazed every time i look at your parts. i will keep trying and learning from you and francis.
  22. got the brakes done.made the brake pads out of more delrin.like the front tires.it all went together well and looks ok.
  23. assy. of the body is going well.body is on the chassis. i have to sand and paint silver around the head lites. i made head lite covers out of solid lexan , finished and polished to use to make a mold to reproduce them hollow .the solids are like a magnifying glass but they fit the car nicely
  24. hi tim i check your progress often since francis told me about you. it is awesome. i learn from you and francis everytime i look at your stuff.i am excited to see the 429 .i look at the pictures often. i really am looking forward to starting my own boss in 1/12 scale.
  25. working on the early gm brake calipers and 48 to 54 spindles. they were very popular on early gasser straight axles. got the rear shocks done, other than brake lines the parts are all made for the rear. will finish the front breaks and on to the steering .codi,spelled it right this time ,your 429 is awesome .hope mine is half as nice . thank you francis for telling me about tim. hope you all enjoy the pictures any helpful info along the way would be great.thanks
