  1. It's trunk lid underside detail day. Also made progress with scratch building some rear suspension. Modeling it on the Shelby GT 350R suspension so it's age and make correct for the 66 hardtop. Kind looks like something from star wars.
  2. Up here I'm the Memphis area we are supposed to get down to less than zero with the wind chill.
  3. Thought about putting a vinyl top on the mustang but the last time I did one it turned out like doo doo. Now at least I will get to see how it should be done.
  4. The pains I go through just to make something accurately stock. The problem being: the 66 chassis is all pre molded lumps. The 67 chassis has the interior floor as the top of the undercarriage. The solution: cut up the 66 interior and fit it to the 66 interior to the 67 chassis.
  5. See these guys pretty regularly
  6. one of these: https://www.jensentools.com/product/620PO201-201
  7. Might be pushing the restomod parameters though.
  8. What do ya think....cute and fuzzy bunny hood ornament??? I really gotta stop building late at night ?
  9. Convinced this 67 to give up it's chassis and engine compartment.
  10. Looks awesome!! I am dreading doing door panels but know they need to be done.
  11. Very nice work on the door panels!! Oh and if you plan on opening the trunk on this one, those alignment posts are a pain.
  12. Well that was considerably more work than I remember the only other time I opened a trunk... Those attachments posts didn't help matters any.
  13. Finally here. My entry is official. Going to bash a lot of it with a 67 kit for better detail, especially in the chassis.
  14. That map is cool. Although mt Rushmore is nowhere along that route.
  15. Been wanting to do another of the Mustang II. They aren't hard to find and the expanded decals don't do much for me but I'll probably end up with one.
  16. If you are talking about the body of your car, are you using something to hold it that you can turn and manipulate while you paint? I ended up taking a piece of pvc pipe about 15 inches long and cutting two lengths of metal coat hanger than I bent in half and stuck down the pipe fare enough to stay. I use the four ends to support the body while I hold and turn the holder as I spray. For airbrushing I drilled a hole in a piece of 2x4 that the holder stands in and use that as a stand.
  17. Only my third year and first with a mustang, but that is only because that is primarily what I build. This will be my first coupe though. I love seeing what everybody does with the mustangs as it gives me lots of ideas for future projects.
  18. My bad. I just looked at the 66 kit and realized it doesn't have an engine compartment at all. Now it all makes sense.
  19. Woo hoo it's gonna be Mustang party!! Lots of awesome builds this year.
  20. Planning on doing almost this same thing, mostly. Looked through your last build and it was great! Will be following this one closely. Curious how different the 66 engine compartment is to the 67. Based on your work I assume you can't just put the 67 chassis under the 66 body without the engine compartment swap.
  21. That would make sense. I just remembered I have a 67 I have sitting around just waiting for primer. Will test fit on that. Thanks for the heads up on what to look for.
  22. Makes sense. If I was able to actually maintain focus on one project I might not have 5 different ones in various stages of completion.
  23. Patience never being something I possess, I couldn't wait for my main model to show up before starting the engine. Hopefully the svt engine will slide right in to the 66 without issue.
