What non-auto model did you get today?
Beans replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
WHAT??!! Then what does the tank commander have to tell the driver after backing up? (fond memories of my TC letting me know after we stopped about what I ran over). That is an awesome looking model by the way. -
Had that on Monday. Found after getting home from a trip late Sunday. Turned out to be a loose valve stem core.

What this forum has done for me........
Beans replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Exactly!! I have found a happy medium between crazy detail and having a model I am happy with that doesn't bend my patience. For every super detailed build I complete I will do 1 or 2 quicker less detailed builds. That being said, even my less detailed builds have benefitted greatly from being a member here. -
Any idea on theme for the 2026 Cannonball
Beans replied to Wagonmaster110's topic in Community Builds
Once upon a time I had a 1978 bronco, until i decided to replace the carpet and pulled it up on the passenger side to realize there wasn't much underneath it (except the ground). Sold it off and saw it years later parked in a parking lot, the entire thing was rusted out. -

Maybe a stiff bristled toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol.

I was thinking on this yesterday and my reasonable choices are a 71 Nova, 2010 Mustang, 74 Maverick...but I think I am going to challenge myself and go with the Chevy HHR SS. I think Jimmy Flintstone still sells a resin body but it will take some creative butchery to make it all work the way I want. -

Now if there was only a model kit of a 1980's mazda 626 available.... No worries though I have lots of others to choose from. -

Built one a few years ago...don't remember any issues that I didn't create myself. Everything went together really well. -

I'm liking this previously owned idea. I think I have an idea of exactly what I will do, assuming I can source the parts needed. -
+1. Looks like an Aoshima after market set.

Willy's Revival via Simon Fordman
Beans replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cool!! The last one I watched was the Camaro. Love just relaxing and watching his videos -
I figured it would be a total number of stars type thing. Or could simply go with whoever has the most 5 star ratings is #1 with number or 4 start ratings being the tie breaker (if necessary)

It was there yesterday, but I don't see that option today.

Overall it isn't a bad kit. I have one that I am using to replicate a Bronco I owned back in the day. My only issue with it (and it is minor and fixable) is that the rear roof section doesn't fit the body all that well. Then again, neither did my 1:1.

This group build a little while back gained some good participation so there is no reason any of you ideas couldn't be done. -
I don't think it will even be that drastic. Information control is people control. AI used in subtle, behind the scenes ways to provoke human action seems most likely. Think War of the Worlds only with real life video of a made up event and total media bombardment telling you what you are seeing is true. It's a way to expand psychological operations and take them to a new level. Subjugation through choice manipulation is easier than subjugation through force.

More bank / phone scam CYA info. Yes, it CAN happen to you.
Beans replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My bank has a couple of safeguards. I can set my notifications to let me know when a transaction over a certain amount happens and to confirm with me prior to any very large transactions. Of course that just means they will call me and ask. The "easier" and "more convenient" banking is, the more easily it can be hacked and scammed. The never ending spiral of bank and personal countermeasures and criminal work arounds continues to infinity it seems. I never really hear about scammers being tracked down and caught. -
I know where you are coming from. I have posted things sometimes with little or no response and been like; What the heck is wrong with me?? Then seen posts that I wonder what other's are seeing that I am not (in regards to the accolades). It can be frustrating. All in all I just have to remember the randomness of it all and not let my self doubt creep in.

Question about truck based of prototype photo
Beans replied to backyardtrains's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Can't answer your question but thanks for the flashback to the days my friends and I used to take the bus into Seattle for the day. -
What car would you choose to do a modern 'Christine' movie?
Beans replied to JollySipper's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Chrysler Sebring: The whole movie would just be the car sitting around and constantly fixing itself while random cursing came out through the radio. -
Black parts, White paint
Beans replied to matthijsgrit's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I would start with a white primer. I haven't ever tried this but that is where I would start. Probably duplicolor white primer. That seems to cover well for me. (depending on what paint you are using over it of course)
