All acronym griping and run-on sentence creating aside; Back the original question. I also am no expert on the topic and can only go by a very limited experience. Createx has an additive (4030 balancing clear) that is supposed to, among other things, increase the durability of their paint. Much like a hardener. I haven't tested it but I've used it. Haven't tried it with glossy or candy paint (which they also state it is a carrier for).

Beans replied to Wagonmaster110's topic in Community Builds
I just came up with another one.... Land Yachts.... any car that meets a minimum overall length. Say about 220 inches or so (from the factory) -

Don't remember if it was last year or the year before but there was a lot of interest in a RADwood type of theme. Don't know much about it other than it is an 80's and 90's car culture type event. https://www.radwood.com/ -
Crazy candy corn story.... when I was somewhere between 3 and 5 years old I shoved a candy corn so far up my nose that my parents had to take me to the doctor to remove it. I haven't touched any since.

I bought my wife a 60's schwinn a few years back and needs some work. Just haven't gotten around to restoring it. You are kind of inspiring me to start.

Always loved watching the Forces race. Met him a couple times over the years. All the grand kids are still pretty young but I wouldn't be surprised to see another Force racing someday.

Glad you are getting around and the soreness should pass. Hope you are feeling better quickly.

A Place For Build Ideas

Why things go back in the box for me: 1. Waiting on aftermarket parts or tires or engine. Spent hobby budget on a new kit rather than the parts for the old kit. 2. Engine and interior turned out great, now I'm scared i am going to screw up the paint or just need to buy paint but where did the hobby budget money go.....oh yeah, new kit 3. I'm bored of this....why did I want to build this again?? I don't even like this car.....plus I just got that new kit...

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)
Beans replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you. The paint has a much more transitional effect than I thought it would. Depending on the light it goes from a blueish gold to a darker greenish gold. -
I'm in for he Camaro and Corvette. I'll just enjoy seeing what y'all do with the trucks.

I guess the question I have is, what do you want? I know what you don't want and don't necessarily disagree with you. As one of the more casual builders on this site I get very picky about what I want to build. As someone in my mid 50's in age, I didn't own or drive any car older than 1970. So the nostalgia plays little in my mind. I do like building some 60s & 70s stuff but don't need every model year of the Duster. In the same token, how many Skylines do we need???? Talk about an over done import. And how about some modern NHRA stuff....I would much rather have a current Tony Stewart top fuel dragster or John Force Funny Car than replicate whoever won the 1962 Winter Nationals. (Sorry I went off on a tangent there) I am guessing you are looking for one of two things: More modern cars 90's-2020s (other than Mustang, Camaro, Charger or Challenger which all exist for the most part)? or Totally new toolings of classic cars. (With Tamiya like fitment and included detailed photo etch - and always with engines)?

Very nice. Awesome build

Best thing about reissues is watching all the price gougers on the auction sites try to liquidate quickly each time a new kit is announced. Suddenly that super rare, half built, dipped in house paint, with somebody's initials carved in it model isn't worth $150

More from Atlantis models coming next year !

Not my thing but it will be cool to see what others do with these kits....and it reminded me that steam shovels were once a thing. -
Reissues are fine as long as they are reissuing the kits I want and not the ones I don't...but alas, I have checked repeatedly and the world still does not revolve around me.... I mean who really wants to build a Ford Taurus...bleh.

Megahobby.com coming to a close Q3 2026
Beans replied to Dpate's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Have ordered from them a couple times. Their kit prices tend to be higher than others. Mainly ordered parts and accessories. Sad to see them go. -
when disturbed and handled, they can inflict a painful response. Although repeatedly referred to as a “bite” in the literature, the injury actually occurs through a stab of your skin by their needle-like rostrum and a dose of their defensive/digestive product—described as “10 times worse” than stings from bees, wasps, or hornets. The sensation has been described as a burning, very sharp pain that can be followed by numbness in the local area for several days. YIKES!!
