  1. Looks awesome. I vote carbs!
  2. Still playing on my old PS3 and Wii. Nothing new, just some old games that I restart constantly and never finish. The Batman Arkham games and Assassin's Creed. I always get on a binge, get halfway through, stop playing for like 3 months or more and then forget all the controls and have to start over.
  3. These guys can do it for seat belts. https://www.kitsworld.co.uk/index.php?CATEGORY=9&SUB=12 The depth isn't super pronounced but pronounced enough that there is a 3D affect. Should be doable for emblems. Water slide 3D emblems would be great. Not sure what process they use for printing.
  4. My last two cannonball entries fit that description very well. One I never finished the other was just a mess when I got it done. Yours came out way better than both of those.
  5. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/lindberg-72713-crown-victoria--955776 Scroll down until you see Instructions and click the green button.
  6. From what I have seen of your work, I would say just keep doing what you are doing now.
  7. Ah. OK thanks. Honestly didn't know where one gen ends and the next begins with firebirds.
  8. YT can be ok but is quickly becoming more garbage than information. The majority of the "content creators" aren't trying to pass along knowledge or help others or educate. They are trying to get free stuff. I watch my teenage daughter and her friends. They all make the same kinds of videos (I won't let my daughter have a YT account). They all want to get the clicks and likes. Why? to get free stuff. They inundate companies they like and request free stuff. They say they will hype in on their channel. Its all one big advertisement. The older kids thought they would get rich having other people watch them play video games. That kind of died out. I can count on one hand the number of model related YT videos I have watched all the way through. Mute - look at what is in the box - back arrow. I learn more on techniques and skills on this forum than I ever did on YT. And don't even get me started on FB.
  9. Wasn't happy with the way this one turned out. Built for a past years cannonball build off.
  10. Same. Mine came from doing a lot of leather work. Which I will occasionally do from time to time.
  11. I do what I can to make things looks more realistic. The steering wheel in the front seat bothers me for some reason and no matter what I feel the need to correct it. I also want the rear seats (if they exist) to look like someone could sit in them and put their feet on the floor. I don't go as far as making sure seatbelts would actually fit around a person (when I add them), but just what looks right to my eye. I honestly never thought about shifter position but now I am.
  12. I haven't done this personally but I would imagine that 3d scanning each parts tree then using CAD to clean up or adjust the scan as necessary then simply importing it to the slicer and 3d printing at the best quality (smallest layer setting) possible, would get you exactly what you are talking about. Personally I never made progress with my 3d printing as I had a resin tub catastrophe that ate my printer. What I did learn was that finding the right settings for the right resin is key to getting quality prints. Also, in my limited experience, failed prints and warpage happen. Nothing comes out perfect the first time. But others with more experience can give you a better idea.
  13. My thoughts as well. If you are scaling them yourself, scale them to the exact size you want vs. just scaling them to a % of a %.
  14. Sand and polish. Repaint if necessary, and avoid CA glue on painted kits. It always turns out bad. (at least for me)
  15. Been wondering about something like this for a while now. With the 3d printed water slide seatbelts, louvers and rivets, the tech is there.
  16. Having a daughter that is just reaching driving age I can tell you that these i-phone generation kids are more interested in the tech features than anything. There was a time when people wanted cars that had some smart phone type features. Now people want smart phones that they can also drive places. Very few kids grew up like most of us older folks. Watching (and probably helping) dad fix the car, change the oil, or even do basic maintenance. The idea of "I can make that" or "I can fix that" turned into, "there's an app for that".
  17. I've been wanting this forever. My first car was an orange Maverick and I can't wait to build a replica. Stock works just fine for me. I can always get duplicates to turn into whatever I want.
  18. Been intrigued by this kit. Yours turned out great!
  19. Love that color. The customizations came out great.
  20. That's what is great about this hobby. I love looking at your builds and the time and attention you put into each aspect. I like that on those rare occasions when I do decide to go full out on the details I have something to aspire to.
  21. That varnish is something I usually see used on wargaming and model figures. I've never used it myself but that is where I hear "varnish" being used most. I have no experience with the Mr. Color clear. Tamiya is good. I tend to always use clear from the same company that made the paint I used on the model. Testors extreme or whatever they call it now, is ok. It doesn't spray as fine at the Tamiya and I find that I have to move the can faster to get more even coats.
  22. I like it. Great work.
  23. I like that the 78 chevy truck and trailer box art focuses on the grand prix car. It's like, oh, by the way there's a truck in there too. 😄
  24. This is so cool! Loved watching the hydro races as a kid. Funny part is I grew up in Kent and never went to this museum. Awesome job on this build!!!
