  1. Awesome. They look really good. I'll be getting a set.
  2. I tried blue over a black base once and it just made a darker black. I only did two coats of the blue before I changed my mind on it. Don't know what I was expecting but it didn't seem to do much at all.
  3. I thing this would be cool. Want to see you pull it off.
  4. Everybody is cruising right along.... Still waiting on some aftermarket parts to come in the mail but I got most of the engine done. Thought about an engine swap but that Grand sport engine looks too good.
  5. Wonder if electrical tape over the wire wrap would work. (Thinking out loud)
  6. That does look pretty good. I may have to just get some and see. Sometimes there is only one way to find out.
  7. Been rebuilding my 69 F250 1:1 for a while now. If anybody needs pictures or measurements on anything let me know. I built one up using the 1970 F100 base (this kit hadn't come out)
  8. My inspiration comes from a couple main places and is why most of what I build fits into just a few categories: 1. Cars I have owned in my life. 2. Mustangs - I have had a thing for Ford Mustangs for a while. I mostly build different variants and then Mustangs from movies and TV and so on. 3. TV - I got into the TV show Supernatural a while back. It is kinds cheesy and cooky but what I liked was that each character had a specific vehicle that kind of fit their personality and a lot of them were just cool cars. I started building the cars from the show. They each require a decent amount of customization so it is never a straight build. I kind of like to grab onto a theme and beat that theme to death.
  9. Did you ever try these out? I don't know if I want to jump and pay the cost if it is just a 3D looking picture on a standard flat decal.
  10. While going down a rabbit hole of vehicle requirements for 1975 (to see if I needed bumpers to be road legal) I came across this, which was evidently a new requirement for 1975: Brakes All vehicles, except motorcycles, must have brakes that can stop and hold the vehicle, and that are effective on at least two wheels. Now I was young back in the 70s but still don't remember cars driving around with brakes on only 1 wheel.
  11. Watch out for the sniping apps. If you have one that uses your account info you can get hacked pretty easily.
  12. multiple thin coats is the key. You won't cover in one pass. You have to build the paint up over several.
  13. Very cool. Nice design. If i ever get my 3d printer up and running again I'll have to hit you up.
  14. Wife and daughter went to see Wicked so I had time to start filling the groove in the frame and do some engine assembly.
  15. Lots of progress being made. I've managed to open the kit...also started working the chassis fitment and thinking about ride height but that's about as far as I have gone so far.
  16. My first car was a full orange Maverick Grabber. By full orange, I mean the exterior (except for the white grabber stripe and logo) and the entire interior...all orange. In case you were stuck for a paint scheme...one color does it all.
  17. Ok. Finally decided on a kit. Went with the option of detailing a kit rather than doing a lot of mods in hopes of actually finishing this one. I'll be going with the 1964 Corvette Grand sport this go round.
  18. I'm in...what to build...I have a couple ideas but not sure which one I am going with yet. Will settle on one pretty quick and post it.
  19. I'm good with this. Maybe by limiting any crazy ideas of an engine swap I will actually finish this time.......maybe
  20. I read it to mean that any car model year 1975 or older with any engine from any care also from 1975 or older. I don't think they meant the car had to be a 74 or earlier model but not the components.
  21. Congratulation on the great build to all the finishers. I may eventually get one of these done..always seem to bomb out in the end. HA.
  22. Oh man!! Snuck up on me again. With most of my building stuff packed for a move I may have to get creative to get done.
  23. My simple contribution
  24. Munster's house would be a great addition. It seems to be really hard to find for less than an appendage. I did take a generic house and turned it into the Michael Myers house. I'll have to see if I have any pictures.
  25. I like the steelies better personally, gives it more of a racing stance vs. a cruising the neighborhood stance. Just my thoughts.
