  1. ok. i have been following this thread and think it is a great idea. i have decided to do a build a car that was suppose to run the 1976 le mans during Bill Frances' attempt to internationalize NASCAR. everyone remembers the Olympia Charger and the Truxmore Torino. IMSA NASCAR GT. well i want to finally attempt to build, what i think could have been a car to be reckoned with on the circuit de le sarthe. holman moody prepped Boss 429 in a '73 Torino, built by the Bowsher brothers. it won it's class at the Daytona 24 hours and was going to Le mans. that is until John Holman passed away. the car was parked. too bad. so danny, will this work for the build off?
  2. oh what a beautiful ferrari. it came out great. this is a gorgeous shot.
  3. um........Bob. under normal circumstances, customs just do not do anything for me; however, this creation of yours is beautiful. great looking paint. now if i could put some chrome, 18 inch, BBS Y spokes on it.................sorry. it just comes out. nice ford, man.
  4. first, i would like to thank each one of you for the positivity that is coming my way and for the encouragement to continue with these, from the far side of Pluto, ideas. it really helps and has really pushed me to get my next project done. that would be the third one for the year. woo-hoo. THANK YOU ALL i also really like that little B motor. 200 cubic inches of snarling cast iron. that poor bottom end. nick, nick, nick. what decals do you need?
  5. thanks for the video. love that '02! gorgeous. and that Lancia. words cannot describe that bad mama-jama. that is a REAL delta. and Nick, berg is german for mountain ( hill ). all hill climbs in Germany are known as bergrennen. thanks. the '31 is posted.
  6. hey guys. some really cool stuff here. love that 350Z, Marcos. here is my 70's muscle car edition supra. keep 'em comin' guys.
  7. well the fat lady has sung, so this one is done. started with the Revell '31 Ford. it is a slammer (no suspension ). fuel injected, Riley headed, model B four cylinder with Procharger blower. scratch built the entire induction and exhaust system. chassis completely scratch built with widened fenders. original idea was a 'time attack'. but i think the finished product would look better running around Road America battling a certain '53 grand sport. a different kind of hot rod... sort of reminds me of Mr Krabb. i do not think ol' Henry had this in mind. radiator is behind that grill. boosted horsepower. not my best; however, i am pleased with the results.
  8. nice video nick. bergrennen ( mountain racing ) is really cool. went to a few of them on the Mosel river when i was in Germany. standing right on the side of the road as the cars go flying around the corner is very exillerating. this one here has been shown before, but it is still my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laPv375cf-U
  9. hey nick try this thread out. it has a large photo gallery for the c9. http://www.forocoches.com/foro/showthread.php?t=383311
  10. chris, chris, chris...... that is an outstanding trio. i really like the nissan. would love to see them in person.
  11. nice work man. that is a great looking car. for old decals, they came out really nice. i have 10 or 12 of those IMSA mustangs. need to get busy and build one. if it would come out as nice as yours, than it would look great in my collection of pigs. chris, you do some excellent work. keep on posting.
  12. nice work man. that is a great looking car. for old decals, they came out really nice.
  13. now that is going to be killer. is that going to be the home for a certain 427 side oiler? did you make those spoilers? keep us posted.
  14. I LIKE IT. very cool build. i have not yet bought one of these NSXs and had no idea the rear wing was so complicated, three planes, cool.

    Hi haters

ummmmm..kevin. i hate it. i hate that it is yours and not mine.
  16. hey dave, thanks. i do believe that i owe you. i think it was on one of your threads, that you mentioned using, i believe you called it Live Wire, small rubber strips for molding around the windows. i went to Dick's and found another brand in their fishing section. two bucks for two sheets. i used it on this build, for the first time, because the fitment of the windshield was so bad. all i can say is GREAT TIP. it works very easy. fit great using white glue. also, Tamiya german gray is the same color. that is why i really like this site. tons of wonderful and inexpensive tips.
  17. i would like to thank each and everyone of you for the kind words and positive comments. truly humbling. yes bernard, the '31 was started last year and should be done next week. george, where did you hear that nick liked blue? vielen dank.
  18. an EPIC told in three parts! a completely cool concept pulled wonderfully together by some outstanding talent and over the top execution. great job. and it is even ECO friendly. probably california mandated that even plastic models be equipped with current and functioning pollution control devices.
  19. i am calling this one done and ready for the road course. all in all, i really think this one nailed the "take no prisoners" look without losing that classic touch. this one would be nice to see, running around Road America, mixing it up with other hot rodded classics. even foreign classics. hope you guys enjoy these pictures. photos are great, are they not? you can see i need a little touch up. the name above the door is (was) my dad's name. he passed last June. nice curves! no, that is not a pull ring to make it talk. 440 cubic inches of injected "big block" chevy V6. yee-haw. going for the glamour shot? well, now it is on to the '31 A. wow, i am going to get a least two done this year. peace.
  20. hello gentlemen. thank you very much for bringing this old sow back up. george, it is my term of endearment for old cars that have been resurrected and now act and perform like a modern car should. a few years ago, i owned my own street rod/performance shop. i built several rods from the 40s, 50s and 60s. not billet trailer queens either. drivers! anyway, the term started there. i use it on cars that i built ( 1/1 and 1/25-1/24 ) and just plain love. hope that clears things up. anyway, i will post the '53 in the under glass later tonight. i think i hear something sizzling in the skillet.
  21. RAUL! your little trio here has more imagination in it then all of mine put together. customs are not my thing; however, the raptor crew is just plain awesome. cool.
  22. dale, that is sweet looking. you have done a really nice job. i have this kit, just looking at the decal sheet makes me nervous. i will be building mine completly different ( impossible for me to build box stock ). i will not use the decals so, if they would help with your touch up, let me know. send me your address and i will send them your way. again, i like your accord.
  23. hey guys. hope you all had a good weekend. just a quick update. i have gotten this pig ( the howard cams special ) almost ready for race day. the belly pan, diffuser and most of the splitter is complete. glass is almost done, just need rear side windows. you know, the glass is a real problem with this kit. they do not fit the openings correctly. a plus is that they do fit flush, though. you can also see that the hood is again in primer. the original stripe was crooked. did not notice it until the body was painted. hopefully tomorrow i can get it painted. here you can see the diffuser and the clear spoiler, with gurney lip. just need to add the rear tow hook. i am going to try and have this one done by next weekend. Model Fiesta is in two weekends and i still want to get my '31 done. thanks for looking and following along.
  24. WOW. great looking car. one from the small block era. my favorites are the big block cars. looking at the velocity stacks, i would guess the motor to be a Weslake-Ford. any pics without the rear cover? i did a google search and found this picture. looks like you nailed it. outstanding.
