Hello everyone! I got a little bit of headway made so far. The instructions that come with the kit start to become more easy to digest once you get the starting point established. From that point it’s basically a read-along and you have to keep finding where you left off in the paragraph. I recommend using a highlighter marker to mark over the areas that you’ve finished so it’s easier to jump right back where you left off. One thing I haven’t been thrilled with so far is how much cleanup is required for some of the parts. For example, the frame/chassis part (12B) had a lot of residue on it that looked kind of like glue and caused bumpy uneaven spots. It would have taken notable time to sand all the round tubing to make it look real nice... something I simply wasn’t willing to do for a piece that will likely never even be looked at by anyone except on this WIP. The carb parts, which are quite tiny also required cleanup on a micro scale with the #11 blade on every piece. It’s difficult to see what you’re doing on such small bright white parts. I opted to hand brush all of the engine/suspension parts so far, and they turned out looking quite well, however the camera has a magnifying affect which makes the inconsistencies appear more exaggerated than how it appears in person. Anyway, I decided to go into detail to get a starting point established. Now, with something tangible to work off of, I’m thinking I might be able to simplify things a bit more going forward...
