Hot Rod Hauler
AZPartsLocators replied to Tarkmucker's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This is an awesome build! -
That is awesome! I am very sentimental with things that were my dads or like he had. Especially since he passed away almost 7 years ago. Glad you were able to find this

I have not had any luck to speak of with any of my wanted ads. I don't know if most members don't search the wanted section to see what people need (I know I do and help when I can) or if these parts are just too obscure to come up with. I know these are desirable models and maybe people just want to hang onto the parts. This time around I have a MPC 1970 Firebird Promo.I have started collecting these as I just like them better than the Camaros. The main need is a left taillight but the front bumper cover is missing a piece. I could also use the shifter but I could make something work for that if I can't come up with one. More than anything, I want this to look complete so the tail light is the main piece I need. I could live with the missing piece on the front bumper but I would like to have one. Thanks for looking. Have tons to trade like a headlight/grille insert from this same car. (I have an extra one)

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
AZPartsLocators replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I am sure this have been covered. I went through the first few pages and the last couple and didn't see it though. I have been using AWESOME from the dollar store to strip my vintage kits. It is cheap at $5 a gallon and works very well. The exception to this, seems to be gold paint. Many times it won't even touch it. Any suggestions? I have though about trying DOT 3 but don't want to waste the money if it won't touch gold as I am more than happy with AWESOME for basically anything else. -
I recently picked up a clean original amt 1967 Impala convertible. It was store in a damp location for a ton of years so the bumpers and hubcaps have little to none of the plating left on them. I need both front and rear as well as the caps or someone that can refinish mine. Have lots to trade. Not looking for the reissue ones that aren't dated but the hubcaps would probably work. Have tons of stuff to trade.

There are several currently for sale on eBay. Not sure what price range you are looking for. I think the cheapest is $74 if you don't have any luck on here
-
That makes sense. I didn't even think about pulling a pair from a promo. May have to start watching for a damaged one. Really hoped a set would turn up on here.

That's a good option but I can't justify buying a whole kit for just the headlights. Then I would be in the same position I am already in with a complete kit (Grumpy's Vega) that didn't have the headlights. I would think there is a good chance some other kits used the same lights as well

Do you have a picture of the one you are looking for? I have several hoods but can't always verify what year they are from
-
Thank you. I was pretty sure they were. This is a vintage built up I just plan on a paint strip, repaint and reassemble.

I should have the rear tail light bar if you still need it. Are you looking for a mint piece?

Revell 1964 Ford Thunderbolt front grill and bumper
AZPartsLocators replied to mrindy77's topic in Wanted!
I also checked and have the grille. May have the front bumper that came to me in the same lot if you have a picture. -
Looking for a pair of these as that is all my 1973 Vega is missing.. I believe they were chrome but I don't have the instructions as it is a built up kit. If they were clear, I would appreciate the input as I can make something work but I think the originals were chrome. Have tons of stuff to trade.
