  1. I doubt if it is going to be a old Doyusha release, it doens't make sense. So let's hope for the positive and hope it is also going to be a new tool, I mean, RoG has done quite some new tools in the past couple of years with older cars, so why not?
  2. I think it is just a new sheet of decals, wheels look similar to what they had and I don't think new wheels would be much of an addition to such a release.
  3. So, I was just browsing on the Facebook app and noticed a small, half photo of some new Revell products. I noticed quite quickly that it was going to be a 4-door Porsche and dug some further; they are going to release a Panamera 2! Not the prettiest of cars, but something I wouldn't mind getting. But I also noticed that they are going to put out a Porsche Junior 108! And that is very awesome! And some other (re)releases: And the 'Black Pearl'
  4. Got to work on it today some more, finished up the interior and all left to do is the huge task of getting the body paint-prepped. And it is quite some work I can tell you, those moldlines are difficult, as the plastic isn't even on either side of that line. Started with some more masking And playing with glue And added some flocking, which is a fun job on this scale. The chrome is two-faced; one side very shine Other side basically non-existent, some parts are faced on the good side, some parts aren't... The start of the dashboard Flocking starting to look nice Added some chrome parts and some BMF, the doorpanels don't look anything like the original, so I tried with some BMF to mimic it a little bit. Also note the heavy mold-lines on the chrome pieces. The dash added to the interior And off to the bodyshop:
  5. And we continue, it is getting late over here and the misses getting impatient, so I am sorry, but I won't be typing much at this update, sorry!
  6. I would start making a slot in the spoiler, if you sand carefully, you might keep the paint on the spoiler. When the spoiler sits flush, apply glue, clear paint or drill holes in both spoiler and decklid and put a little piece of wire into the holes. I basically do that to 'appendages', like spoilers, mirrors and doorhandles.
  7. Thanks Henry, Yes, those decals are a serious gamechanger, they make so much more out of this kit. Even though it isn't Tamiya quality; it does build into something nice. And there is a lot of room for detailing, it isn't that hard with this kit. Small update, haven't done much due to illness during the holidays (still have to have our Christmas dinner!) The wheels in their final colors, I think it looks so much nicer than the stock wheels. The tention on the V-belt is just too high, even after letting the glue cure for almost a week, it still pulle the pulley's off. I decided to omit the crankshaft pulley, in order to release the tention. Battery and steeringbox installed The hoses from the engine mounted to the radiator Glued down and held in place with tape, also a lot of tension here. Discbrakes Intake in place and also hold together with tape Subframe also being held with tape, it's necessary Starting to look like something And the rear-axle in place.
  8. I like that 'if'... I would like to see how that is going to end like.
  9. The boat is finally done and I can start with the Corvette for about a week, after that, I will start Dakar groupsbuild, so will be working on that for 2 weeks, after that, I will be getting on this one again, so I am trying to get as much done as I can. First I dechromed a couple of parts that shouldn't be chromed at all And glued both engine halves together, filled it with filler to get it decent. And some other, thicker, parts got some filler, due to shrinkage The engine is halfway decent, and getting ready for paint. In order to place the cylinderheads in the right place, I added the intakemanifold only for glueing the heads down. The choice of wheels for this project, I decided not to go for the kelsey Hayes And the rocker covers; I left the chrome on the piece, but painted it over with light gray and scraped the Corvette lettering The engine is somewhat Chevrolet organge and the gearox dark grey What I really love of this issue, is that awesome decalsheet! It makes such a big difference to the older issues. The engine got a bit more dressed up And this is where I left the engine for today;
  10. Thanks, I am also looking into 3D drawing and maybe later printing. I will start with autocad 2D and go later with Inventor 3D. I will follow a education for that, which will teach me for 8 hours per day, one day per week for 2 months. So it should give me a decent place to start.
  11. Why is Blender difficult to learn?
  12. Time for a big update, I've been working on my resin mostly lately, but it was also time to finish the Predator. I think the deadline is the end of the year. I must say that this kit goes together very nicely, even though there is not a whole lot of parts, much can be done with additional detailling (which I didn't, since it is a review).
  13. Good luck Harry, we'll be thinking of you!
  14. Thanks guys, I am very pleased with it. I just was very lucky. It was on the leading online marketplace over here and is very busy with traders and such. Just before lunch on friday, i was just browsing and I noticed the Bugatti for 25 euro's (almost 25 dollars now) and thought there was something wrong. Only 4 people had seen that advertisement yet, so it meant it was online only for a few minutes. There was a phonenumber and I dialed it instantly, it was a oppertunity. It was an older lady, couldn't really figure out if she was a widower or not, and wanted to get rid of the huge thing collecting dust. It was a very pleasant conversation and I was convinced it was the real thing and decided to buy it, regardless whether it was complete. With 25 dollars, there is enough room to fix that. When it came in yesterday, I was very pleased with it. Even though the engine is build and some of the firewall, the rest is in pristine condition and looks very nice. I have no doubt there will be missing some screws or washers, but I don't see that as a problem at all. And I am not going to sell it, I will never be able to buy a Pocher Bugatti again, but I have no doubt I could sell it instantly for 800-1000 dollars as it is at the moment. Even though we could really use the money, it is a keeper; Me is happy!
  15. I was looking on a Dutch online marketplace and found me this kit for 25 dollars! Most is in the bags as it should be But the engine was put together, considering I paid 25 dollars for it, I can live with it haha.
  16. Seems like he follow up on his error, Let's see what he sends you, but it does sound promising. Good luck!
  17. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't meant to demean this casting or offer. Not at all! 150 bucks is just a lot of money, I have to feed a family of four for two weeks for that, so the amount of money is relative. But I also know that it is worth it, I have seen a 1/25th resin Futureliner on a modelshow in Europe and I know it is big. Just out of curiosity; how much would shipping be to The Netherlands?
  18. I understand that, but in my own opinion; I think it is a lot of money, but I also agree that related to all that work and just the sheer size, it is not bad at all.
  19. Looks awesome, hell lot of money though, but this would be one of few I wouldn't mind wasting on. It does scream for more details, opening up the sides and get the Futurama going.
  20. I would use grey primer, it covers blue pretty good, and white will apply with ease.
  21. After receiving the 2016 RoG issue of the 1/8 '65 Stingray, I really wanted to do something about those correct, but not nice looking wheels. So I went through my stash and found some nice Kelsey Halsey wheels from the '82 Corvette. However, these wheels are too wide for the '65, so I started to modify the wheel. Both the adapter and the wheel. When working on the lathe, I got another Idea and started working on Halibrands for the '65. I had to practice a bit, but I made a nice looking wheel IMHO and made them to fit the '65 Stingray, which meant that they are not very deep, but I made them at least a bit deep dish. I think I will make another with a deeper wheel, that will fit the '82 Corvette. But that is for later on. I had fun working on them and I don't think they will be my last projects, I even grew enough confidence to put them on evilBay and try to sell a couple of them (They can also be found on my website: http://www.firerods.com Let me show some pictures:
  22. I defintaly don't dislike it, but it does look not much different than the Audi's, Toyota's and Porsche's. I understand they can't be much different, but put a different sticker on it and it could pass for a Mazda, or a Chrysler or whatever you want to put on it.
  23. Beautiful car, not the greatest kit. But being that said; it isn't that bad. It has good detail from the factory, fit can be a issue, but overal it does build to nice models. But the overall quality of Heller is quite diverse, sometimes they make very nice kits, other times they are just a bit better than the Palmers. Well, not that bad, but you catch my drift.
  24. I wasn't sure wether to post this build, but obviously decided to do so haha. This model is also a review model for the Dutch IPMS and will be basically boxstock. But I will go a different route with the paintjob. The new boxart from RoG; looks nice and what is weird, is that the Yacht is not longer called the Sunseeker Predator, but nameless Yacht 108ft First I got together is the hull, which does fits nice, but needed some persuation It also needed tape to stay in place and get the shape right And a few clothespins This is the part for the upper structure, according to the plans, all are to be painted seperately and the parts don't get assembled together at once, but in several parts of the instructions. Therefore I started to dryfit and tried to see if there is a different way to get the things done And it is possible for the cabin to be put together as a whole piece, which meant that the cabin can also be painted in one piece. Win...! And the preparations began... There are a couple of marks where the plastic is too thick and shrunk because of that And finally time for the first coat of color! The second color, which was Zero gloss black, but I had a hard time to get it properly covered. I found later that Vallejo acrylic did a much better job. And the third and last color... After I got all the tape off, I got this sinister looking yacht, exactly how I wanted and matched my Challenger paintjob very well. More soon!
