I hear you… I’m in that club. More kits than I will live long enough to build… but I do still pick up new kits when something grabs me, which is more often than I care to admit! -

Hey I get it, as I said already, I would like to have a full detail kit as well, but being a silver lining kind of guy, I am happy that they are improving upon their recent efforts with the gawdawful silver headlights. If the new ones get some kids into the hobby, all the better (I read a lot of complaining here about how the manufacturers don’t bring out anything that kids would be interested in). As far as Revell and Mustangs go, are you forgetting about their recent ’71s? They are excellent kits, and the first time that gen of Mustang was done properly. Not all doom and gloom, IMHO. -

Yet, as a snap kit, isn’t it just what is needed to help get young people into the hobby? A popular, modern car that appears to be dimensionally accurate (to satisfy the more seasoned builders who want the subject matter), that can be built quickly and easily by young builders who would otherwise get flustered by a highly detailed kit, and give up? While I would love to see a detailed kit with a Coyote included, it seems that sometimes we have to concede our wants so that others can join in, and this should be a good subject to do it with. FWIW, the lack of a street version is what kept me from getting the Tamiya kit… -

The Mustang is looking good to me. I usually don’t build 1/32, but I might have to get a Buick! Also I might be the only one here who has never bought a Jeep pickup, so that will be on the list. -
Could have sent it on his phone using cellular data?

At least it looks like it will have separate headlight buckets and lenses, a huge improvement over the chrome “lenses” on previous versions. -
Totally want to build that minty fresh green one with the base white bumpers and caps!

I would be all over a ‘69 Bonneville if it were ever cloned, much more than a GP. In fact, my second choice of those listed would be the Olds. I’m not even sure how one would ascertain which would be the better business case, TBH, though R2 seems to be on it.

That could very well be the one I was thinking of.

IIRC, there was a RC ‘50 Studebaker diecast that was out for a short run. A simplified snap-type kit based off of that tooling, if it still existed, might be alright. Revell did it, and though not perfect, it was a way to get the subject matter into kit form.

It’s not clear to me why it should be up to the customer to jump through hoops in order to get an update on the order that they already paid for. You categorize the poster as if he is unreasonable in his expectations, and that he’s a product of a world that expects everything to happen in an instant, but I don’t see it that way. IMHO, once the seller has accepted payment for the item(s), it’s incumbent on him to fulfill the order within the timeframe that was provided. If he can’t make the deadline, then it’s up to him to communicate with the customer as to why it didn’t happen, and what the expectation should be to send out the product. Then it’s up to the customer to decide whether they want to continue or request a refund. That’s business, and it’s fair. I know that most people in this hobby are incredibly understanding and reasonable, and with some communication from the seller, they would be more than willing to wait… all they want is some assurance that the item will eventually arrive. However, with no communication, there’s no reassurance, and trust starts to fade. Anxiety sets in and we wonder if we will ever get the parts that we paid for. The lack of communication also gives the impression that the seller doesn’t really care, since he can’t even be bothered to answer an email. Key point: communication. It’s something so basic and simple, but something so many screw up. I suspect that this entire situation could have been avoided had the seller simply said something like “sorry I’m running behind, but I should be able to get it out to you in a couple of weeks”… or whatever. Just my 2 cents, but I get annoyed at how the values out in the world seem to be changing to the point that it’s up to the customer to make sure he gets what he paid for, and it’s okay that he has to spend a bunch of time and energy to chase down the seller to get him to do something that is the very reason that his business exists in the first place.

Thank you. They look pretty close to the caps I've seen on Dodge pickups from the 1970s, like in this brochure pic: 1976 Dodge pickup brochure page, which is the look I'm trying to capture. However, I am also not very familiar with the details of pickups in general, I just like the no-nonsense no-option look, on the heavier duty pickups. I'm definitely not one to be in a position to make suggestions, though, they look great to me. No rush on this for me. I'll check your cults page from time to time and if I can get somebody to print them off for me, I'll go that route. Appreciate your correspondence on this.

You’re welcome! Do you plan to add your Dodge truck hubcap to the cults site? Also what year models and applications are they meant for? Looks like 3/4 ton or 1-tons perhaps? I like the look anyhow. Also, I don’t have a printer (or the knowledge to use one), but if I found somebody to buy the file, print it, and sell the printed part to me, is that okay, or would there be some issue with licensing, etc? I am just learning about this whole 3D printing thing, and perhaps might take the plunge and buy one someday, but for now I just want to find cool part designs and get some printed for me to use on a model. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll give it a try. Edit: Let’s see if this works: https://cults3d.com/en/users/Basement-Resin/3d-models

Would it be possible to provide a link to your stuff at cults? Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but when I search for Basement-resin, I get 397 results, the first few pages seem to be random items, not your designs. I gave up after that…
