  1. Erik stated on the previous page that the tooling can’t be modified, only run as-is. So, unless they want to invest in new tooling as an add-on for the existing Galaxie tooling, the most we should expect just a straight re-run of what Galaxie previously ran. I agree with you that there probably wouldn’t be a good business case to do any more, especially in light of all the other great stuff they have in the works. I’m happy just to see these coming back, to be able to build, and hopefully get a coupe version in the future.
  2. I was holding out for a stock 2-door sedan as well, but if it doesn’t happen I might have to get 3 kits to make one (six and partial interior from the wagon, chassis and partial interior from the hardtop), plus steel wheels and dog dish caps from Fireball Modelworks (have to check for correctness). That would run me over $150 Canadian, but there would be plenty of spare parts left over for some future creative uses. Lots of projects that motivate me more in the queue ahead of it, so it may not happen at all. We’ll see what the next couple of years bring along…
  3. Their site says: “This is a placeholder for an upcoming release. Pricing is at zero to allow for email alert signup.” Not sure why that would be there if there wasn’t some word that it was coming this year, but usually Model Roundup is fairly reliable and I haven’t seen anything there yet.
  4. In a parallel universe, I’d love to have all-new digitally scanned kits along the lines of the recent Revell Mustangs, but I’m not holding my breath while still in this universe. 😅 Scribe guides might be nice, but I still subscribe to the old school sculpture mindset that the proper shape is in there and it’s my job to get it out. When it looks good to the eye it’s done (though no guarantees of symmetry… lol). Just saying that I would rather be building a kit than complaining about it. Whatever abomination I end up with after my “improvements” just makes for a good story! 😁
  5. My take on this is that even many “fringe” builders won’t know or care about the side window shape, and for those of us who do, a little bit of careful filing, filling, and perhaps a few pieces of evergreen strip should make it right. No big deal, IMHO, and much easier and less expensive than sacrificing another kit for a roof transplant. We can argue all day as to whether it should have been done better, but at the end of it all it is still what it is, so deal with it and move on. The fun in the hobby for me is taking a bare kit and making it look like the picture in my head. If that includes some cutting and filing, then so be it. The world won’t end if I get it wrong, so it’s just low-risk fun no matter how you slice it! Glad to see the new iteration of this kit. I will definitely be getting one. 🙂
  6. Must have used the same measurements as their ‘70 Trans am?
  7. Any rumours floating around out there about when we might see a stock ‘70 Mach 1 kit announced? I don’t mind doing a kitbash, but a cloned digitally remastered version of the original would be sweet!
  8. This looks great in all aspects! Not sure why we are getting caught up in the definition of “complete kit”, but such is the nature of the internet and modern society, I suppose… The important point to me is that this will build up to be a really nice model out of the box. Sure, it will require a slightly higher skill level than your average beginner, but we now have Revell Chrom in a spray can for those of us who don’t want to deal with an aftermarket plating service. The proportions and details look great to me, and that’s all that matters. Kudos to Red Wheel for pulling off a creation that has never been successfully offered by anyone in the past, AFAIK. 👍🏻
  9. With the attractive Matador body and the red/white/blue AMC paint job, this has always been one of my favourite NASCARs. I always was disappointed that there was never a kit made of it, but you are making it happen. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to more updates!
  10. So a C-body only colour special ordered for a B-body. Cool stuff, that colour looks great on the Charger. I imagine that there must have been some ordered like that back in the day, though you would have to have had a good salesman who knew how to do this. Love it! Hope to see pics of your transporter with all the cars on it!
  11. I recall the buzz around the re-release back in the day and was excited and looking forward to be able to get a long box. Unfortunately it sounds like things got messy and it never happened. With Round 2 doing clones of old kits, maybe it could be a possibility again, or maybe a year model that we don’t get, like ‘62-‘63 with a long box… you never know these days as kits that I thought were long gone are again becoming a reality!
  12. Thanks Steve. This is very tempting!
  13. That looks great! Is there a source for the Can-Am decals?
  14. Oh yeah! Now we're talking! Love it! Will be doing up an order soon! Edit: Might wait for you to finish up your ’69 Beaumont first, though.
  15. I would just like to have some stock models in 1:24 or 1:25 of KC/KA spec Honda vehicles from the 1990s and 2000s (and up) to replicate the vehicles that I saw and drove (and continue to drive) around here during that time. Civics/CRXs, Accords (not JDM or Euro), Acura TL, TLX, Integra, etc. I know people like the tuned/modified or race versions, but it seems adding stock parts shouldn’t be too much of a stretch and would open up the market to people who want to model what most people drove in North America. LHD parts shouldn’t break the bank either, IMHO. I also know that I don’t have a hope in heck of seeing them, but I’ve been bottling it up for a while and it had to come out eventually… 😁
  16. That’s cool. I wish they would offer a left hand drive option, though.
  17. Thanks for the clarification. I had forgotten that the AMT ‘68 was basically a custom ’67. So a ‘69 is possible by combining with the AMT ‘70 tool, but a ‘68 is possible only by cloning the MPC tool, which seems to be within the scope of what Round 2 is doing these days. Then a builder could still kitbash with the newer ‘67 kit if they wanted a more detailed chassis. Sounds like a win-win to me. 👍🏻 Anyhow, as I have said before, I’m more than happy with what they have done already and am continually amazed at the new announcements as they come along. I don’t expect every kit to be cloned, but am thankful for whatever they do! It’s a great time to be in the hobby!
  18. Would the ‘68 Impala chassis not be the same as the ‘70? What I like about the Round 2 cloned kits is that they build up really nicely as is, but if you want to build some of them to a higher detail standard, you can combine them with one of the detailed ’90s kits. For example, the ‘68 Coronets will fit on the ‘68 Road Runner (etc) chassis, the ‘71 Demon will work with the ‘71 Duster chassis, etc. Likewise, a ‘68 Impala would work with the ‘67 Impala. Anyhow, whether we see these or not, it’s interesting to discuss. FWIW, I hardly see these threads as “begging for them”. It’s a discussion board where we “discuss”… like kinda the idea of why the forum exists in the first place.
  19. Thanks! 👍🏻
  20. The pic shows a different ramp body, but it says not indicative of the box art. What would make the most sense is different year model, same ramp body.
  21. ‘68 and ‘69 Impala would be on a must-buy list for me. The GP would be nice, but only if a stock version was buildable. I wouldn’t be interested in a Sweat Hogs or Superfly version.
  22. Perfect for a Coca Cola sponsored race car.
