  1. But... why? What would be the motivation to put out a model kit box of a 1/34 diecast? To what purpose?
  2. Maybe we should call the box-art illustration the "box art illusion". I am amazed that anyone is upset because an illustration isn't just like the finished product. Illustrations always look sleek and far more enticing than a photo. As for the stance, you're model builders... lower it. You're not being hosed by the manufacturer. Be grateful that Pablo Picasso didn't do the cover art.
  3. Exactly. I learned the hard way a long time ago, NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I don't loan. Too many slugs with no sense of morals.
  4. Get some termites. You won't need the chainsaw.
  5. ZING! Right over his head!
  6. For nine years I have been driving a minivan bus for transporting special needs kids to school. Before that, I did eight years in ball bearing assembly, clean room environment. Also did eight years pre-press (inc “stripping” LoL). Previously went to trade school to learn auto body, stayed in that for a few years.
  7. LoL! "THE wiper motor!" Happy Birthday, Bill!
  8. Wait until you have enough kits to form another room in your house!
  9. This one will be issued in a pizza box. A large pizza box.
  10. Stunning work, Jeff! Like the weathering, too!
  11. Never built one, but I have saved some reference photos: http://images49.fotki.com/v109/photos/5/54765/228091/FrameZ1930AbySteveH01-vi.jpg Chassis by Steve H. http://images20.fotki.com/v189/photos/5/54765/228091/932hotrodframebyDaveFletcher01-vi.jpg Chassis by Dave Fletcher http://images12.fotki.com/v197/photos/5/54765/228091/FRAMEZ02-vi.jpg Builder unknown
  12. What is the best steel wool size for final scuffing before primer? I did all my seam sanding, I would like to use something that can get into every crease, fold, and bend.
  13. This is not a 1:1 car board!
  14. Doobie, that hood scoop was a factory option on the AMC SC/Rambler. No so much on the "everyday" mundane versions.
  15. I would be proud to have that on my shelf!
  16. Tombraider Jeep, back... this time in plastic! Sweet! How about a Laura Croft figure?!
  17. I remember seeing that photo, and after searching for two days, I found it!
  18. Actually, I am amazed that anyone expected more. This isn't the first "New wheels in an old kit" stunt that we have seen. Right or wrong, that is what they do. I expect more of the same. And the artwork does imply more alterations than provided in the box. This is the kind of stuff that AMT used to do (Donk wheels on a '32 Ford?).
  19. Got the Ford Phantom Van yesterday for 30% off. Now I need to plan to lengthen the body using the Juke Box Van to replicate my old van...
  20. That really does look good! When I opened this thread, I didn't see the side of the cement block it rests on, and I was trying to wonder if it was a pic of a 1:1 truck!
  21. Not sure if everyone is aware, by Norm is having health issues. I found this on the HAMB: "Hello, this is Norm's niece, Mary, logging on to post an update on my Uncle Norm. He had me set this up and I've been able to read posts to him but not reply. So, hope this works. He's been living with us since his hospital stay in St. Louis last May. As of Thursday, Sept 13, he is in the hospital from major complications involving his feeding tube and he got a bad infection from something going wrong with the placement of the tube. So he is getting the care he needs to pull through it. Will keep you posted on how he is doing. Also, with his consent, we set up a Facebook page for him so people could keep in touch, post photos and comments. Look for Norm Grabowski. We read them to him and he will reply by us keying it in. He is not technology friendly, LOL He does enjoy hearing from everyone and really misses talking, but especially misses eating. Thank you for your support...." http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=705456&page=6
  22. Hey Doc, that has to be one of your most outstanding -shiny- paintjobs ever! That is a whole diff category than your rust, tho. You master the rust, too!
