Guys, I pulled this one back out and drug it across the finish line so I'm calling it done. WIP: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/195735-1957-ford-del-rio-ranch-wagon/

I decided to go ahead and pulled this one back out and finish it even though I didn't like the ride height of the front wheels. I was going to give it a two tone paint job but just didn't like how the masking was going so I aborted that idea quickly. I ended up painted it a Tamiya TS-38 Gun Metal and there is no clear over this paint. All of the bright work was re-chromed using the chrome from a Molotow pen and shooting it through my airbrush. The interior was painted the same as the body and the seat trim was painted silver. This build is pretty much box stock except I did wire the engine. Looking for Drag Racing decals.

Try STS Decals (STS Scale Model Decals – STSDecals) They can custom make whatever you want. I just ordered a custom set for my Gasser build. -
That's a good looking model. Nicely done.

I'm making a little headway. I have the chassis and floor pan painted and matted together. A little bit of the front end has been assembled and I'm ready to start building the rear suspension around the axle housing. Everything on the rear will have to be moved inwards due to the width of the rear tires. All the parts have been modified, I just need to glue everything in place. The body has been prepped and ready for the silver leaf base coat.

Welcome back Dave. Congrats on your retirement. I just celebrated my 4th year of retirement last month.

Much obliged there Carl. I had a lot of paint issues on this one but after the 3rd paint job it finally came around. -

1954 Ford F-100

Hey now, that's a good looking 54 Ford pickup Kimmo. Sounds like it took a lot to get this build across the finish like with your better half's help. Nicely done. -
Nice kit for the stash. Anything Tri-Five looks good anyway you spin it.

I like anything Pro Street and your Olds is looking pretty good so far.

I think I have the rear axle figured out. I narrowed the rear end and then cut some 5/32" X .014 Aluminum tubing to go over each axle half. The tubing fits inside the wheel backing plate nice and tight. I got it all painted and glued together and fitted down inside the chassis. I'll have to shave the chassis rails down a little so they are not rubbing the tires. Now with this in place I can start building the leaf springs, shocks, radius rods around the rear end.

Thank you Sir.

I got the chassis just about where I want it so it was time for a trial fit with the engine and radiator in place. It is snug as a bug but fits fine. I did have to remove the lower motor mount from the chassis. I'll have to relocate it.

Thanks Buddy. I knew you would like this one. Haha.

This morning I started cutting the frame and body pan to get those Big ole meats under the rear. I think I have the stance I'm going for.

The 32 Ford is a really kewl looking Hot Rod. The Tamiya TS-11 maroon with the semi-gloss clear looks the part man. Fantasic looking build.

That engine looks just right setting in the business end of the Coupe. Those wheels & tires will look Super nice John.

Nice looking 37 Cord Coupe.

I appreciate all the info DJ. I did pop the firewall out and fit the body back on the chassis and that only helped a little but it was still way off. These are the kit wheels and tires so they should work. There is only about a 1/6" gap between the top of the tire and the inner fender so redrilling the hole would do no good. For me anyway. This kit sure has a major flaw.
