  1. Calling it done, warts and all. I called myself diverting a little from a out of box build. I decided to install different wheels and tires, and a V8 engine. It did not turn out so well. I thought I had checked all clearances for the V8, it's a 350 from the 72 Nova kit, but I forgot about the firewall. The firewall caused the body not to sit all the way down and gives it too high of a look in the front. I guess I could have fixed it, but was ready to get through with the build. I do like the redline tires and retro mags though.
  2. Finished it. It's in the under glass section.
  3. That's a 350 small block from the 67 Nova kit. I looked at a 427 but didn't think it would work. It's not an accurate mount, but I'm ok with it. Had to shorten the drive shaft. I've test fitted the radiator and it seems to work out, but I will have to make some new hoses. Had trouble getting some pipes on it but kept modifying some from the 72 Nova kit and got them to work out, although it's not pretty. Not a show truck anyway, just something I can put on my shelf.
  4. Looks great. I also just got back into the hobby after around 30 years. I've done 3 kits since returning, I totally messed up the first one. You are doing better than I am.
  5. Looking good Bob. I got side tracked from my 50 Chevy 3100, but hope to get back to it soon.
  6. Just started working on this, no photos yet. I'm thinking of going gloss black on it. Maybe stick on a number 3. LOL.
  7. Thanks guys. Yea I need to touch up some of trim parts. Dang shaky hands.
  8. Thanks Bob. It is done and posted in the under glass section. I'll be starting on the 1950 Chevy truck in a few days.
  9. Call it done, warts and all. Fun little kit.
  10. Coming along. One thing to note is the front and rear body panels are molded in with the chassis, you can either cut them off and glue to the body or mask off when painting. I chose to mask.
  11. Looks really nice. Great work. My first car at age 17 was a 66 Impala SS 396, I hope to find a kit in the near future and try to replicate it.
  12. Thanks guys. Taking a few days break, then on to the 50 Chevy.
  13. Paint is on. I need to highlight the trim parts............
  14. I'm calling it done, warts and all. I think maybe I have improved since my first 2 kits after being away from the hobby for about 30 years. Need to improve my painting. You can't see in these photos but I did wire the engine with plug wires, something I had not ever done before. You can see a better photo of the engine in the work in progress section.
  15. 1950 Chevy. I'm going to try and deviate a little from a basic build. Looking at maybe some retro red line tires and mags. I have a 350 Chevy engine I want to try and install if it doesn't require too much fitting, don't want to get in over my head and mess up the whole kit.
  16. Finishing up, just like a few more bits. Next photo will be under glass. Just a basic build, but I'm satisfied with it.
  17. Have not got started on it yet as I'm trying to finish a 65 chevy pickup but the weather has not been good for painting. Hope to start on it this week.
  18. Wow, looks great. How do you guys get the dash so detailed, especially the speedo.
